Club V C&CC Ferry Prices

Been looking at prices for an early trip to Portugal next year with our MH buddies who are also C&CC members. One option is to go on a C&CC rally at Lagos but, as we are not members, could necessitate us joining.

If not a member you can pay a £20 supplement for a ferry  booking only but, even if a member, have to pay a £75 supplement to attend a rally if the ferry is not booked with C&CC so joining could make sense if the rally is what we decide on.

Looking at prices for our options, Plymouth-Santander and return, Plymouth-Roscoff  and return or Santander out Roscoff back, all with an outside cabin and 4 vouchers, shows that the club is consistently cheaper with the lowest saving over C&CC being just over £80 and the most being just short of £130.

Compared to booking direct with Brittany feries, and taking the value of the vouchers into account, with the Club Santander is £187 less, Santander/Roscoff is £292 less and Roscoff is £445 less.

EDIT-Just had a call from friends to sy that the rally ends in November 2018-Ah well back to the planning!

Hi eurortraveller, sort of as we may still be going but of course the C&CC rally at Turiscampo is no longer an option!

I would usually go for the £337 Roscoff return but at almost 1300 miles, in early April, and the £1090 Santander return price the Santander out Roscoff back at £695 is looking most likely at this very early stage.

The Roscoff price, less the cost of the vouchers, makes the ferry £250 which is less than half I paid for our first ever foreign trip in 1990!

allanandjean, the Plymouth - Santander and Roscoff - Plymouth ferry is the one I've been looking at for next April. The timings suit us very well.

Like you I have played around with the vouchers on all the routes.

The savings on this route is very good just hope that will be the case once we can get to book it. Not sure when the booking opens for next year.

Tammy, Bookings are open now for those routes 15 months ahead, up to 3 November 2019 - but Plymouth /Santander usually dries up in December and January when the ship goes in for servicing or provides cover for other routes.

Hi TG, I would think that if you can get to the booking stage then, as euror says you could do it now.

I think the issue will not be the lack of a decent discount, we have just got a great saving on a Plymouth to Roscoff return booking made less than three weeks before the crossing, but availability on the Santander route. We have twice looked to book about 4 months in advance and found either no availability or availability of space for the outfit but no suitable cabins.
