Have you discounted Camping Villsom? We stayed there last year. The pitches were small and it had a bit of road noise but for one night I would have thought it was ok. Certainly if I were returning to Seville I would use it again.

Can you be that close and not? We drove ten miles to Avenida Blas Infante and got the metro which takes you right into the heart of Seville.

AD we have been looking at that route down next Spring and like you have struggled to find a site.

We will probably overnight at Caceres and then down to El Rocio in one go, according to Google 336 km. Saville we will do after that, trying to time our visit to El Rocio for the weekend and Saville for during week.

We rarely do cities either but as I wanted to do the history of Spain we had to. The open air car park at the metro was huge and a doddle to park in and the metro is right next to it.

Both Seville and Jerez are worth the effort. We particularly enjoyed the smaller Jerez. Trying to recall the site we stayed at in Seville where there was a bus stop within 400 yards (sorry, metres) of the site. May not be the best for you David as I recall it was quite a tight fit when we were last there and we had a small outfit. If I remember site I'll let you know, but we went straight from there to Merida so not much help for you. Sorry.

TG - El Rocio is something else. Cowboy town, literally, but very nice. Try to take in the National Nature reserve park, Doñana. There is a park building and a some bird hides where you may be lucky to see an Imperial Eagle. We've not stayed at the campsite in El Rocio but it looks okay.

Thanks for that WN, Jerez is also on the list of places to visit I want to see the Spanish horses and ideally take in a show, peedee gave me a link and some info a few years ago, when we were going there.

Unfortunately OH took ill in Salamanca and we never made it. So tempting fate planning to go 2019.

Donana reserve is also on the list. Problem we are having at the moment is trying to decide when to go, before or after the Easter breakundecided Easter Monday next year is the 21st April so quite late.

El Rocio, we have been told is interesting on a Sunday when they all come into town on horses and carts.

Having a car at our disposal once again, I hope will give us lots of scope to visit lots of places without having to move the caravan to often. Still want to use the bikes as often as we can.

Caceres to El Rocio is a pretty easy journey.  We have done it twice, both times reaching El Rocio early afternoon.  You mentioned Merida earlier.  Merida is an easy day trip from Caceres and well worth spending a day there.  More Roman remains than Rome itself!.  Caceres too is worth a day.

Yes, be in El Rocio by Thursday or Friday.  Saturday there are bands and parties, Sunday there will be parades as the visiting brotherhoods take their banners to the church to be blessed.  Donana is great, and good for cycling too, but beware the sandy tracks!  We found Seville an easy day trip from El Rocio.  Whatever you do though get away from the area by Whit Sunday, when over one million pilgrims descend on El Rocio.

Jerez is well worth a visit too.  We stayed at Santa Maria, an easy drive from Jerez and a Ferry trip to Cadiz.

Sorry I forgot that there is a bus stop 400 yards from Villsom across two very busy main roads. We parked our car on the adjoining pitch as the pitches were so small and no one complained. Might be different in high season.
