Rain overnight and spitting this morning. Generally dull and damp and much cooler.

We had heavy rain through the night and from about 10 minutes ago this morning it is lashing down.again. Because of the heavy cloud last night we were not able to see the Blood Moon but we did see lots of lightening flashes a long way to the south of us.
Must say the rain is very welcome as the gardens were needing the hosepipe every day. When out walking the dog this morning the fields were still baked hard even with last night's heavy rain. We need a sustained period of wet weather to fill the reservoirs and rivers and irrigate the grass for animals grazing.
It's still reasonably hot though.

Rain for us at last! Couple of hours, steady, no storm. Sun is out now, very breezy, a nice balmy 22c!

Proper Summer weather at last, in the low 20’s, the grass is greening up & the plants are bouncing back. All hail Mother Nature😂😂👍🏻(& the jet stream heading south)

Rain again over night, we have had rain everyday for a week, some light showers and some heavy ones. The temperature has been in the low 20's, although the other day it dropped to 15, The sun seems to be hiding, no need for suncream or parasol, no risk of heatstroke, The grass, vegetables and flowers are loving it.

We are watching different locations at the moment, trying to weigh up where is best to go for a week or so. Unlikely to be South, too busy for us.

TDA,
Have you tried Pembrokeshire? Similar Coastal Scenery to Cornwall but much less crowded. My home originally and where we are off to in early/Mid September.
Otherwise Suffolk/Norfolk, totally the opposite side of the Country of course but very stable weather compared to the SW these days.
The SW seems to be suffering more these days from climate change. It used to be the main holiday destination for the whole of UK, and reputed to be the warmest. But these days it seems to get more than its fair share of bad weather compared to the SE.

It's not just the SW that gets the weather fronts coming in from the Atlantic but the western coast of the country in general, TF. The east is nearly always calmer and dryer.
I really don’t think it’s caused by climate change either as it’s been the same for as long as I can remember. The Jet Stream moves north and south and so the weather changes.
