Thailand Cave Rescue
Hoping against hope that the Thai Childrens football team, and Coach, are all safely recovered from the caves they have been trapped in for 10 or so days.
At least the entire Cave Rescue World is fighting on their behalf right now.

Newsnight, BBC2, on Tuesday evening covered this story in depth and also interviewed a chap who along with another guy was trapped in a cave in Derbyshire and had to be rescued by specialist divers. The guy who was trapped gave a fascinating, if scary, account of the thought processes he went through.

I heard yesterday that, because of possible rising water levels, they could be down there for weeks, even months. Not a good thought.

It's now crunch time for urgent action as the Monsoon rains are imminent. Good luck to the trapped youngsters and to the brave divers who are risking their lives to save them. There's no time left to start drilling shafts from above. The youngsters will have to be helped to swim through the cave network.

All 12 boys and their coach have now been brought out and seemingly in good health and spirit. Thoughts must be with the family of the diver who died taking part in this rescue. But having said that, it's a rare totally good news story.

Got home from Poolsbrook at lunch-time today, switched on the 'box to see the R A F Celebrations only to discover all the youngsters & the assistant coach are out, safe & reasonably well. Didn't see the Fly-past for tears -- of joy obviously !! Well done to the World Wide Diving/caving Fraternity.
