I have read the posts and I can assure everyone that the music was not loud at all. We are Mature adults we went to the front of the Motorhome and the music was not by any means Loud Yes you might say what do we class as loud. Well this site was quiet and we respected that . The music was just playing in the background that’s it.If you want to play music play it but be respectful of others .
I could complain about Kids making a noise Babies crying dogs barking the list goes on. They moved on not because of us because they had already planned to move that day as the other couple informed us.

Peoples hearing varies greatly. 6 or 7 years ago I was sat at CC Henley on Thames. I wondered what the noise was that I could hear and finally tracked it down. It was two baby rabbits eating grass about 80 feet away. The sound was them tearing the leaves off the grass.
I appreciate that you had the volume low but obviously not low enough.

"The next day they moved on .... deciding to pack away before 8am."
Well I hope they were quiet about it

What the OP does not tell us is the time of night he was playing the music. If there was talking and music after the camp quiet time( usually 10.30 or 11pm in France) then it doesn't matter how low the volume was. Silence means silence. If earlier, then fair enough.

I am sure it was not your intention to upset anyone and perhaps had you had different neighbours it might have gone unnoticed. I am still puzzled why anyone would both be chatting to friends and listening to music. Perhaps it was the combination that got to your neighbour? With my hearing I need to do either or!!! Now I am sure we can all picture Eurotraveller on his lounger with sun hat pulled down over his eyes listening to the dulcet tones of the delightful Katie Melua, after all it is a Wonderful Life. But I expect he likes to drink that music in on its own uninterrupted. Mind he does sometimes say that he is usually on sparsely occupied campsites so perhaps he has no one to disturb

I think the clue is in the title of the thread, JD.

Thanks for returning, AK.
A few people have been hasty to criticise so it’s good to hear that you checked the volume.
Well done for turning it off, even if it wasn’t loud, in the interests of goodwill.

I nearly made a list of things individual people were willing to tolerate, mentioned on this thread....bagpipes, guitars, songs of praise, Katie Melua, TRUMPET...what!? but then I thought better of it.
Sound is so subjective, best to err on the side of caution and whether you can actually play the bagpipes or you're just learning.....
Happy holidays Arrivakids, I'll be staying next to a circus tent on a rally next week!
