sorry Steve, my sloppy English.....
i meant the kids were the only 'item' charged for in my list.....dogs, awnings, EHU are included....
yes, even. I realised we adults have to pay
ypu may well like the club all-in-one offering but the question I'm answering refers to flexibility in charging, and items like EHU, dogs, Hs,awnings would not be on my options list, therefore I would much prefer a flexible approach.
when I use CCC I take advantage of their different approach, I choose a grass pitch, no EHU, don't deploy an awning and don't bring dogs....

And that’s fine, PD, as we all have our views/opinions.
However, the word was "required" rather than "needed" which has a different meaning. It is only a matter of opinion, or preference, whether EHU is "not really required" and not, as I said, a fact.
PS. "True of most, if not all MHs" it may be but not of their owners or users I’ll wager.

I have been on some dire sites both here and abroad and none of them were club sites. The one thing for sure about club sites is there is a standard and we all, well almost all, know what that standard is.
K - a lot of caravans have solar panels as standard, and we don't need to drive around to charge them up

Which we do frequently.

Sorry TW didn't mean to change what K had written. Either it was too early in the morning and I was not fully focused or I was too pre-occupied with my own thoughts. Either way in my mind they have the same meaning. Hence the fingers followed my train of thought.
I would have thought instead of the current tariffs, increasing the number of items charged for rather than paying a package fee might benefit those who are complaining of high prices. If there was more opportunity to pick and chose, thereby presenting an opportunity to reduce the nightly fee, it might increase membership and pitch occupancy.

i expect EHU (charged for at rates I've seen between £4 and £8+) is one of the big ticket items and being able to not take this option would make a nge difference, especially in summer where EHU might not be wanted by some....
at a nominal fiver a night that £70 difference in a fortnights holiday.

The CL we were on last week offered a non EHU option for a discount of £3. I'don't have thought that was about fair in summer and, yes, I've come round to thinking that offering a non EHU option is perfectly acceptable and certainly easier and more economical than introducing network wide metering.

There are certainly others that do and are proud to admit to it. None of us can be certain whether they are in the minority or not, surely.

I would be interested to know what you consider "excessive energy use" ?
David
