I have just read on the "Bild" and "Focus" websites that the ADAC is canceling all foreign memberships (ca.60.000) and not taking on any new foreign members because they want to concentrate on the german market. This will probably also mean that the ADAC insurance policy's for foreigners will no longer be valid.

I take it this is not a "Fake News".

    There have been numerous reports for quite a time that ADAC are not accepting new members who do not have a German address.  However all reports suggest that they are honoring existing memberships for the foreseeable future. Any current policy will of course remain valid for its duration.
