Solar panel !!! Help and advice needed
recently had a solar panel fitted to our bailey. Truma 65w
all was well until this weekend.
“Check voltage” message kept (5 timesin 2 days) appeared on the whale control screen.
Looking into this seems that the battery was @15.4v and system had shut off all power to protect.
Was Only happening in strong sunlite, so I disconnected the solar panel. This seems to have at least stopped the message reappearing
Anyone with ideas ????
I have checked all connections, so can only surmise it’s the Truma solar controller

Sounds most probable. Get back to your supplier.

If it is an SDC 10 you might want to check what type of battery it is set to Gel, AGM, or Liquid. My factory fitted unit was set to Gel which is the lowest voltage setting presumably to avoid gassing when connected to a liquid battery. I also see that the maximum voltage of the SDC10 is 16.6v which I guess is for very flat batteries.

Normally the Led light on the controller flash when the battery is full. A solid light means the battery is taking charge. If you see the light flashing, try switching everything on to see if you can drop the battery voltage you may find the light goes solid. Nothing to worry about, I suspect.
