Leave Croatia tomorrow after 40 days here. This is our ninth year in a row out here and have booked again for next year.
Sorry, no pictures or long stories. If you want to know about it, drive here and find out yourselves, is't that what caravaning is all about !!

So, we’re on a very basic site just south of Dubrovnik, boat tickets for tomorrow already bought, the weather is bril, the people are lovely. Crossing Bosnia Herzo’ is not a problem! The two countries agreed to let tourists transit with all EU insurance valid for the journey. Today, sunday, about a 10 minute hold up at passport control into Boz Herz and back into Croatia. Chosen site is full (little germany) second choice is much more friendly ( mainly Dutch) and a an Irish couple in their caravan. No other Brits around! Where are you all?

Pic 2 Zadar
Pic 3 Watermills at Rastoke
Pic 4 Zagreb

So pleased I read these articles, I went to Yugoslavia with my parents in 1965, we were a family of 7 and camped close to Split, my favourite memory is of the Krka Waterfalls, had a great fun day. Swimming in the crystal clear sea and eating out in town was a delight.
We have now toured the whole of the USA over 12 years and have started to catch up with Europe and all the places we have not yet visited with our caravan, we have towed 25,000 miles over the past 4 years and hopefully will have many more to go, Croatia will be one of our plans for this year, not sure whether to do May or September, any advice would be appreciated.

We were staying in Istria at the first part of May, Aminess Sirena at Novigrad to start then moved over to the Eastern side and Autocamp Draga at Moscenicka Draga.
Both sites in May were not very busy plenty of choice of pitch, we enjoyed Istria that much we went back for all of September to a site at Vrsar. It was very busy for the first two weeks, luckily we got a lovely pitch so did not feel the need to move to another when it became less crowded.
Got a pitch booked on the same site for this September already. Otherwise agree with David.

Have had 3 trips to Croatia with a caravan but these were in the late 90's and things seem to have changed somewhat.!

Another David - the photo of the site you stayed at in Croatia looked wonderful. Please could you tell me where it is.
We are looking for a site somewhere between Porec and Pula next to the beach and within walking distance (20 mins max on the flat) of town/ village for food shops and cafe/ bar.

Beverley we are going to Croatia for the first time in May. Looking for sites in similar area/requirements to you.
So far thinking of Aminess Sirena at Novigrad as recommended by Sanchas in this thread. What sites have you come up with so far?
