Speed on sites

Indeed I do drive carefully on site but with no need to touch throttle and certainly no need to monitor my speed which is constant.
The satnav is a damned site more accurate than my speedo. There are two hospitals that I have visited with daughter and grandkids that have an interactive speed sign in certain parts of the internal road. They both agree with the sat nav on tickover.
Interactive signs elsewhere agree with satnav. Speedo is 10% out at most speeds and badly positioned to read at low speed being in the centre of the car. So, unless blocked by trees etc I am confident in satnav and at higher speeds its reading never wavers when using cruise control.

If members when moving around the site walked in the middle of the road it would have a two-fold benefit. It would compel speeders to slow down and reduce pitch-crossing. A "two for one" solution.

I can't believe that such a simple topic has gone to so many posts. I blame myself.
My personal view is that travelling at or below the 5mph site speed limit is not simply about safety but, for me, is a matter of being considerate to other site users. If somebody's car travels at 56 or 7mph then I am not concerned and that speed should be safe also.
So what is the solution? For some it seems that the solution is to increase the speed limit to 10mph as within our local large ASDA store car park and internal roads. Trouble is that there are folk who will drive at 15mph.
Hopefully even more speed humps will not be added to sites. Asking people to respect the speed limit must have some affect perhaps? Maybe asking people to be considerate of others might also work? Past messages that 5 mph is walking speed were ridiculous. How many folk are likely to walk at what is a forced march speed?

Those who tend to not be aware of their unsocial behaviour are the same ones most noted when towing having to brake at speed humps then speed up when car has cleared the said speed hump compleatly oblivious that the caravan had just had clear air underneath and then they complain that the said caravan was falling apart

isn't that true of all rules in life, not just on club sites?
But as this rule affects life and limb...

I am really amazed that people are saying that either because there is little risk or they drive with utmost attention the speed limits on site can be ignored, or indeed set by them as they see fit! Completely self-centred and anti-social and dangerous.
Using the Highway Code reaction times travelling at 5mph means a stopping distance of 6 feet, At 10 mph it is 15 feet. An extra 9 feet to hit someone or something. Using a 1 second reaction time (as you might be more relaxed on site not expecting anything or indeed thinking as the risk is so small why bother) it is 9 feet and 20 feet for 5 and 10 mph. Twenty feet, that is just over 6m to our over there friends, a caravan length. We don’t know what happened in that tragic accident but it is a safe assumption that something was travelling and something hit something, and the slower you go the quicker you can stop and or less injury.
Also you have signed to say you will abide by the rules.
If the speed is set at 5mph then why go faster? There is a risk, going faster will increase that.

I fear CS you are wasting your breath, or typing finger. There are those who are never going to see anything wrong in speeding. Their awareness / reactions are so good they are not like us mere mortals and everything will be OK.
Until of course it isn't.☹️

I have just discovered I am a serial speeder on Club sites. In view of this thread I decided to play back some of my dash cam videos of when I leave a campsite as it shows the GPS speed I am travelling at. It varied between 2 and 8 mph. All I can say in my defence is that it looked dreadfully slow even when there were humans in shot going about their business and of course the speed was not consistently at one end of the scale or the other. Probably within the speed limit if average speed was used!
