Although I was born I Kensington when my Father moved from Norfolk my great grandfather and grandfather came from Easingwold in a "proper" part of Yorkshire and my grandfather and grandmother were married in St Olaves in York before moving to Sandringham in Norfolk,so are you saying that yorkie blood is prone to telling fibs

I don't think there's any lack of consideration on the part of 'modern' MHers....they just want a well designed MHSP that can easily accommodate differing waste outlet configurations.
we all know it's easy....we've seen them all over Europe but, for some reason, we seem to want to make it as difficult as possible with heavy solid manhole covers which are worse than useless as half the membership can't lift them...
the club has stated its rolling out a new design although this may take a lifetime....lets hope the design is a good one, with a grill of decent dimensions to make life easy....a sloping concrete surround would also help guide any misdirected water down into the grill...
we will be at at Minehead early next month, and I know they were about to start on a new MHSP last time we were there....it will be interesting to see what they come up with as the current one is awkward as its on a fairly steep slope.....
my guess is the location won't change but to hopefully the size of the waste drain will be much increased...

Maybe not TW. If deciding not to go out and sat outside on a sunny day opposite the MH empty point it might have been idle curiosity. I still look out for an X-Trail the same colour and model as mine. Idle curiosity as I have, over the last, (nearly) 13 years seen only one and had a chat with the owner who was on the same site.
Doesn't make me sad - merely curious.

Unfortunately BB, unlike some of the ones abroad, which I have used for waste master emptying, the CC versions are not away from where folk might walk. The one at Hawes (pictured) has very little slope on it. I assume it was placed where it was as it's a fairly easy and cheap fix, rather than constructing a totally new one away from possible foot traffic. As a result run off is much more likely.☹️

The one at Hawes and the others we have seen at Cirencester and Broadway all have the metal grate as shown in Stevels picture and the internal drain is about a foot or more below the grate with the sides all sloping towards the drain hole,the one at Hawes looks as if it has been installed by extending the the pipe from the original two ,although some motor caravaners are still useing the lift up covers
Ps we are now at Bridlington and the M/van waste is of the grated varieties

yes, even a slight 'depression' would serve (at least) two purposes....
1. a wider catchment area with less 'runaway'
2. the 'depression' allows the driver to 'feel' where the rear wheel is and therefore where the waste tap is positioned, thus eliminating the 'shuffle' that JVB is so fond of mentioning
just a small change like this would make them work that little bit better

I suspect the CMC are set on the current design, as is their way. Having said that and having used, I think, three of them now I don't find them an inconvenience to use. Margaret guides me into position. Providing you are over the grill water shouldn't spill anywhere. I am just grateful they gradually changing them, just wish they were a bit quicker.

Another "problem "with the poor design of most motor caravan waste outlets is that some are in front of the rear axle and some behind,so a "slight depression"will only "assist some"but when we have used the new drive over waste points ,to empty our waste master there is no need to be so care full with the aim

I agree. Our waste outlet is low down and halfway down the drivers side of the van. It cannot be seen from the drivers seat. I usually have a go at guessing where it is, I get out and have a look, get back in and adjust the van's position by a foot or so as required.. It really isn't difficult.
The only problem I do encounter occasionally, is where the waste drain is too near to the water tap and is on the wrong side for us. Our inlet is on the one side and our outlet is on the other. To get the outlet to line up with the drain I sometimes have to face the wrong direction in the one way system. It would help if the club only put the MH point in sections which are two way traffic.
