That doesn't sound like a refurbished motorhome point to me. They should look something like this. To answer BB points whilst some points are outside the toilet block, I imagine because that is where the main drains are on some sites they are in completely separate locations. the one below is at Brecon and the new one a Seacroft is in a similar situation.

When we were there last year they still had the older style with lift up covers but they have obviously been updated as part of the extension which is good to know.

And your reason for not agreeing? that at least one organisation is trying to get round poor motor caravan design,with a cost effective solution ,to cater for the minority of its members ,who normally spend thousands of pounds more than the majority on vehicles that are fitted with equipment that is basically not fit for purpose

Steve, some of the more upmarket vans are now being fitted with such cameras and an electronic waste release near the drivers dashboard.
this technology will gradually filter down to lesser models over time, but in the meantime why wouldn't the club just make it that bit easier a task to perform?
i don't see a tiny gradient surrounding the drain as a trip hazard, certainly no more so than a. ordinary kerb would be as you approach the ablitions, but this is semantics.
....according to JVB a MH with its door on the wrong side is, no doubt, unfit for purpose as its not std with UK vans...and won't MHers be in the majority, soon? so this is not a sop to just a few vans, this is an infrastructure change that's very necessary to cater for the changing market and membership.
having the waste pipe on the left, the right or the centre doesn't render that van useless...all users just want to be able to dump the water with as much ease as possible with the minimum of fuss and the maximum accuracy....is this too much to ask?....probably, it seems.
DK's photo is fine, the MHSP is well out of the way, a good thing, but for the life of me, I can't see how a slight fall surrounding the drain itself would suddenly make this a lawsuit paradise...

Grey matter is the least of your worries. here in Gwynedd. With the council and the Nat Park closing public toilets be very careful if you step off the tarmac in laybys. Cant fathom when the main industry is tourism, why they have this mantra of closing public facilities.

Incidentally apropos your comment about the club and concrete sumps. Why are the other service points, the ones caravanners tend to use normally concrete.
I am not sure they are. They look a bit like porcelain to me or perhaps a heavy duty fibreglass/plastic. I suppose it could be concrete underneath.
To be honest I think it a bit pointless discussing the merit or otherwise of different construction methods as the Club have obviously decided on the design they want to implement and are unlikely to change. The imperative is to get on and convert and get rid of the lift up covers as quickly as possible. A rethink is just going to delay the conversion?

It is interesting that I have just found this discussion as I had only commented on such a bad practice a few days ago. I am currently touring Ireland and was staying on the Club affiliated site at Nagles Camping and Caravan Park. Whilst having breakfast one morning I watched 5 German registered motorhomes drive past us on their way out of the site, all were draining water along the roadway. On this site the service point was close and accessible, they just didn't bother to use it. We never know what has been drained into these tanks or what is growing in there so it is a practice that should be outlawed. Lets be honest, it's purely down to being lazy. This particular site had most of its pitches serviced so really no excuse.

Thankfully, grey water (you know... water with a little bit of detergent, foodstuff, toothpaste with some tiny amounts of bodily fluid, perhaps some facial hair) ISN’T up there with the likes of Novichok.
A little spillage is likely less harmful to the general health of fellow site habitants than a diesel vehicle chugging by your pitch at walking pace, or those pesky wildlife types that don’t seem to care where they poop or pee.
