Overnight stop Orleans France

Hi all,

off to the Dordogne in June, want to stop overnight around Orleans, has anyone got any recommendations?

    Try camping salbris just below orlean wonderful lakeside position very close to town centre .super market within walking distance  stoped here many times will do so this year

    If you want to visit Orleans itself then Camping Olivet is close - but it's small and popular so make a reservation if you will be arriving late in the day.

    This campsite at Nouan La Fuzelier is about 30 miles south of Orleans and a few miles north of Salbris http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/camping_la_grande_sologne.html

    A few years ago we stopped for three nights at Camping Val de Flux.   Its situated in Beaugency on the banks of the river.   It would be a detour for you if you want to keep to the A71

    Have same question as Lunar Tony so Camping Salbris sounds interesting. However I’ve also found a site called Fontaine de Rabelais at St Ay 10 kms SW of Orléans, does anyone have any feed back please?

    Read the reviews for that one on PitchUp.com   You might be put off.
