Noisy Park Coppice
Visited Park Coppice last weekend and was disturbed by noisey neighbours two out three nights of our stay.
Friday night, folks were talking loudly, standing outside their awning, slightly worse for drink till 3am. When I confronted them politely at 2am I was told “they could talk even louder so be careful, they continued for another hour.
I mentioned this to one of the site wardens who was very helpful and said if it happened again to call the site number and leave a message and the warden on call would deal with it.
Saturday was quiet, which was a relief.
Sunday, another couple from Liverpool got absolutely paralytic and were f’ing and blinding along with their rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ sitting outside their unit completely oblivious to anyone else around them. The time midnight!
I called the site number and left a message and impressively after about 20 mins a warden came and told them to be quiet. The warden returned next morning and I assume reiterated a warning.
We’ve been caravanning for 30 years and never had an experience like this
Just what is going on? Were these people Club Members? Why don’t the on call wardens patrol at 11pm, warn noisy folks, return at 11.30 and if they are still at it eject them from the site next morning.

I’m glad the warden dealt with it.
They can’t work all round the clock due to the working time directive. Full night time cover would mean employing more staff which would push site fees up.

I agree that you should not have to and appalled this has happened. Like you I've never known this happen on a club site, I really hope it's a blip.
I'm impressed by the wardens coming out. maybe next time we should go to the wardens direct?

This is part of the reasons why we avoid bank holidays like the plague. Just pointing out that Park Coppice is not exclusive to members.

Just to update you pj, I have have reported 'said' members to the Club for anti-social behaviour and discussed the matter again with them on departure. They did apologise profusely, drink got the better of them!
When the site is full we have nearly 600 adults and children to look after, so unfortunately we cannot see everyone all of the time, but I promise you we do our best.

I totally agree with your comments some members seem to think when they are in their awning no one else can hear them ,we used to go to coniston a lot and I noticed an area where we used to stay attracted a lot of caravaners who wanted to be together and you could hear them well past 11 o clock. We have just come back from Lady Margarets in Chirk and had no late drinking issues it was wonderful glad to hear the wardens helped but at the time its irritating. I am not saying everyone needs to be like a church mouse but show some respect to others regarding noise not everyone has to get legless to enjoy being away.

I dont ‘buy’ into the drink excuse as if that makes it all ok? It’s simple, if They were worse for wear for drink to the extent described the rules should make it clear members or non members will be banned. If there aren’t any consequences such behaviour will continue and get worse.

The working time directive covers the number of hours worked. A shift system allows employee cover to be extended.
Why should on site employees all start and finish work at the same time. ?. With a shift system, coverage can easily be spread into the evening. The number of hours worked would not change, but the benefits to the CMC in terms of monitoring the adherence to their rules and the satisfaction of their customers would be tremendous.
I agree with a previous poster who indicated that it was not the customers responsibility to police a campsite.

So now it's now not just dark and dingy it's noisy with drunks,pity they wherenot in a motor home,you could call the police👍

could be because K has been in (self imposed?) exile from club sites for a while?
I agree though that we don't need a set of wardens on duty patrolling club sites 24/7.

Understand your situation MDD as we've been there too. I'm off to Coniston myself next month but I do recall an incident several years ago where a female in a group had a tad too much ale and the volume rose considerably around 1 am. Somebody contacted the warden who 'took her off site' in his van to allow the rest of us to get some sleep. The whole group quietly vacated the site early the following morning.

Would be interesting to know when you were last on our site, it's quite beautiful here at the moment. Yes it can get a bit shaded but the clue is in the name 'coppice'.
As I mentioned before, we had nearly 600 adults and children on site at the time and unfortunately the law of averages means sometimes people do not always have consideration for others.
Incidents like this are very rare on our site.

H128 is quite possibly referring to motorhoming forum's ( fora?) longest running and favourite fable, the drunk in charge hypothetical question....
However it's more than most unlikely to be relevant to someone correctly sited on a CC pitch, so not worthy of raising in the first place.....

And yet the opposite can & does happen !
At Exmoor House Club Site Last W/end I went out for the day to enjoy myself. Coming back onto site I found a large caravan & awning set up next to me on what appeared to be the very last available pitch. Total number of occupants seven { 7 } mainly Italians. As the evening wore on laughter & talking took place, obviously, but none of it was loud or disturbing. Feeling a wee bit tired I closed down at about 11pm and retired. Not a sound could be heard apart from me snoring ( I think
)Next morning I was approached by the senior English speaking gentleman who expressed his regrets that they might have disturbed me, despite my protestations that I had no complaints about their conduct, just my own physical tiredness.
Every time I saw them there-after it was all sweetness and light & handshakes & Best Wishes ( both ways ) on their departure.
Which of these examples is most likely to recur this coming week end ??

ABM ,I totally agree with the last two sentences of your post. My wife Yvonne and I have just returned home from 5 nights at Rowan park club site,pitched next to us was a smashing lad from Barnsley in a custom built M/H .We chatted for ages about his travels past and those in the planning , one involving an expedition to outer Mongolia!.When we left this morning it was handshakes all round , the end to a great getaway. But alas for every bunch of rose's you will always find the odd thorn.😎.
