Gas in Europe
Does anyone know just what Camping Gaz options are available in France. I have a 907 canister with gas in it that I use for my barbeque. It may well last for the month that I am away but what are my options for renewal?
I understand that the new cylinders are 'refillable'.
Advice please!!!

907s are inside all the the French hypermarkets, not at the petrol station where the big gas cylinders are. So go inside and show your empty 907 at the customer service desk and say you want a Recharge. They like it with the screw in top back in place. Sometimes they take the empty from you there and give you a chit to show at the till when you pay for the new one, sometimes they wave you through to do the swap at the till. The full cylinders on the shelves have two prices - with and without an exchange.

Years ago I have done exactly as ET describes. A fairly painless exercise. Not sure I would get involved in trying to have the cylinder refilled far simpler to exchange at a supermarket.

Many thanks for your responses. I wasn't wanting to have a cylinder refilled, it just sounded as if there would be no alternative. I have since purchased a new Camping Gaz cylinder in preparation for my Calor bottle running out. All in the interests of lightening the noseweight..
Comments made by my local dealer infer that there will be a few changes on the gas container front, again looking to reduce weight, but he had no definite info.
