Woke up to a gorgeous blue sky this morning so decided to get out and about early for a really active day! First a walk from Great Longstone, just me and Lady this morning - Harry can't really manage the stiles these days, so having to split the dog walking duties now (we've been here before!). Then a stroll round Thornbridge Hall Gardens. We've never been before so it was nice to do something new. The gardens are a bit between seasons right now, but still worth a visit and a few pictures! Whilst there, we bumped into fellow CTers heddlo  (nice to meet you both and add you to the list of names we can put faces to). Next stop lunch at The Packhorse in Little Longstone and then Mrs M took Lady on a little stroll from the Monsal Head viewpoint. Just got back to the van for a nice quiet cuppa (except the wardens have just come to cut the grass around this area! wink

Some pictures from Thornbridge Hall, including this statue which is obviously where Mo Farah got the idea for his "mobot" from! sealed

Nice views Moulesy, doesn't look quite so green up in Derbys yet but no doubt it soon will be. I don't know the house and garden at all but will put it on my list plus the pub! laughing

edit How have you managed to collect so many CTers?! wink

We will be there late afternoon tomorrow on a service pitch. I love this site as it's quiet and great for the dogs.

Cant wait to finish work tomorrow and get hitched up! About an hours drive for us so really handy.

Our last day staying at Castleton. It's been a chilly week, but had some sunny days too, so not all bad. Good wifi on this site. We read Moulesy's post on CT yesterday about visiting Thornbridge Hall, we'd never heard of it so we decided to visit. It was certainly worth a visit as it was a lovely garden if rather an in-between season for the plants, some finished and others not started. We were lucky enough to meet Moulesy, his wife and Harry and Lady (gorgeous dogs)! Apologies for accosting you out of the blue M but thought it must be you because of the 2 setters. Great to have a brief chat and hope you enjoyed your lunch. Off home tomorrow just as the weather warms up nicely, that's typical for us!

This site 😲 as a result of difficulties 😢 I'll make this brief.

Good to read your news, those away ENJOY and recharge your batteries where necessary. I hope the weather stays dry and maybe warm for us all.

Gave our motorhome a quick go over, it looks better already. More elbow grease required to get it really good but a huge improvement. This site is eating my words again!

Put bits back so just clothing and food to go in on Monday. Put in some water filling the water tank, got the air out of the pipes all seemed well. Noticed water in the bathroom, under sink cupboard opened wet spare toilet rolls and shelves. Emptied out dried off, water coming from inlets. Drained the tank,  mopped around that too, on the way home we purchased new push fit joints so OH can have some fun tomorrow or Saturday.  Anyone have any helps and tips for easy removal and refit, hopefully photo attached 😉

The day ended still dull and with a little rain, thankfully the paint outside appeared to be dry before it started.

We went out and collected OH's new (to him) car, a VW Passat never had a VW before. So after picking it up we decided to give it a whirl then go and get some shopping, this time for OH. Shorts, T shirts, shirts and polo top smile why do men leave everything till the last minute, according to him the clothes he had were fine surprised well they are fine in the bin now laughing

Hope tomorrow is better weather undecided

More indulging in hedonism today as weather wonderful, so on the bikes again. Now have sore bum syndrome😊.

Moving tomorrow and sad to leave a lovely site with plenty of small children playing happily with their parents, not a tantrum in sight (or from the children).

Enjoy you're stays at Englethwaite Goldie & Gill, we stopped there on our first stop of our present tour. Great wee site.

Thornbridge Hall looks like a good place for a visit later in the year, M. These CT members get everywhere these days, don't they.

Pleased to hear that your new storage compound is to your likings, millie

Dull day here at Balmaha but we managed a 3 hr walk along the WHW by Loch Lomond. Rain and drizzle since we got back to the van, but was able to get all the odd jobs done in preparation for pour move up to Killin tomorrow,

You can send some of that wonderful weather over to Scotland, WN. You'll just have to invest in better padded shorts and saddle if you're going to do much more cycling.

We arrived on site yesterday afternoon after an uneventful 3 hour tow. The site emptied this morning but the warden says they are full this weekend so alot of vans expected to arrive today so we sre pleased to have arrived before the rush and get a good pitch. Lovely weather here this morning so I went a nice 12 mile cycle. Hopefully the weather stays nice so we can cook on the Cadac this evening

Arrived a Blackmore C&CC yesterday.  Would have gone next door to Malvern Hills CAMC site, but we are with some friends and one of our units is a tent.  Been for a walk along part of the Malvern Hills this afternoon.  Ended up at a well known coffee outlet....

Another glorious late spring day here in Derbyshire, but with a little more cloud cover which kept it comfortable for walking. We drove up to Linacre reservoirs just this side of Chesterfield. A lovely walk, the bluebells are in full bloom and the beech trees are just coming into leaf with that gorgeous bright green tint - don't think my photo really does them justice. The reservoirs have an interesting history recorded on this plaque. If you can't make it out in the photo, it says that, before filtration was introduced the water was rather foul. The poor used it for their soup, the middle classes to wash their clothes and the elite for watering their gardens. Well, that's privatisation for you, eh?! wink

Bit better day today, sun first thing then some clouds for awhile then back to lovely sunshine at teatime.

Busy day today, into town for more clothes shopping for OH. Another 2 pairs of shorts, 1 T shirt and 1 polo top, finally managed to get something to go with his olive shorts he bought the other day.smile

I couldn't miss out so bagged another 2 pairs of shorts smile

Back home for a bacon butty and cup of tea, then back to putting things in the MH, washing machine been on and 3 loads now all dry and smelling lovely as they have been hanging outside.

Painter came again, second coat on the front of the house and first coast on the back now done, looking much better nice and clean. Monday/Tuesday it will be the gable end. We of course won't be here to see it finished frown

Brue, hope you shake off that cold of yours soon.

Everyone away or going away hope the sun shines for you and you have a good BH.

Sorry you are still feeling poorly brue. Hope your cold gets better soon.

Your OH sounds like mine tammygirl. He always says he has plenty of clothes  (but none of them is he is going to be allowed to wear when seen out with me!)

Your outfit looks very smart DSB. I hope you have a good weekend. You deserve a rest

I have spent the day getting ready for our trip on Monday. Washing and ironing and food shopping all done.

One of our regular haunts, M. We stay on a CL and walk over the owner's fields to the Res. Been there in all weathers from ankle deep snow to baking sunshine. A great dog walk.
