All roads lead to Zaragoza  in this area of Spain. From Playa Oyambre the simplest route is along the A8 coast motorway then south on the AP68 perhaps stopping first at Haro in the Rioja region. From there it is an easy run to Zaragoza, followed by the AP2 ; A2 etc to the coast then the AP7 north to the Bay of Rosas.

Your shortest route would be along the A8 to Bayonne then on the French A61 motorway to Narbonne then down the A7 to Figueres.   Slightly longer would be to use the toll-free A67 to Burgos then the AP1 to Pancorbo.   From there across to Lograno then the AP68 down to Zaragoza.   From there the A & AP2 to Barcelona.   A fair amount of toll motorway but at least in Spain you wont have to pay for the caravan.   The whole journey can be done in two easy days.   However I travelled that road last November and if you have the time there is a wealth of interesting places to see.   For sites along the route and descriptions see my blog.

Hi. We were in Oyambre last year for a couple of nights - it's a lovely site and nice area. We took the scenic route from there to Haro and it was a delight. We have an 8m motorhome and had no problems with the road - it basically follows the river Ebro apart from when the road goes though some of the higher passes. It is not a fast route but if you want to take your time it is very scenic and pretty much traffic free. Haro is a lovely town and is the capital of Rioja region so lots of bodegas to visit. We then drove on towards Zaragosa on the N232 and again enjoyed a very pleasant and traffic free drive. We stayed at a site on the lakes just past Zaragosa and then it is a very easy drive to the Mediterranean. Hope you have a good trip.

    Gerry.

Having recently retired, considering doing similar trip next May. Are the routes suggested suitable for caravans As yet haven't looked, as we are currently preparing an 8 week trip to France.

We have a 7+ metre caravan and have no problem with negotiating any of the proposed routes through northern Spain, or any other part of Spain for that matter. We have crossed Spain by most of the usual routes over the years, the motorways and the main dual carriageways are much lest crowded than the ones back in UK and generally free. Even the Madrid ring road the M50 is less hassle than the M25 or the M60.
