Similar for us. We've never need to move since we moved in after getting married 50 yrs ago this September.

Enjoy your stay there, Goldie. We had 4 nights there at the start of our present trip. Grand for walking the dog through the woods, although it was rather wet in there.
Have a good time at Harbury Fields,M. We visited it once when it was a CL, during the floods of 2007.

That's all the essentials packed for a long weekend in the c'van ............big umbrella , waterproofs , snow boots , crampons and ice pick .Just clothes and a case of beer in the morning and the jobs a goodun 😁😁.If anyone else is away . enjoy.😂.

A rather wet day forecast so decided to go to Dumfries House. We were surprised to find that, considering the time of the year, most of the house tours were full. We did managed to get onto the midday one, and this time OH managed to get through it without feeling faint, as she did last time. We did fit in a couple of walks, in the rain showers, round the grounds and noticed the difference from last year.

Enjoy Harbury Fields moulesy. We had a lovely stay there a few years ago. Such great views and sunsets. It was pretty quiet when we were there.
Daffy looks wonderful Helen. OH is quite envious.
We have lived in our house for 30 years and keep trying to have a clear out (well I do!!) but our garage has to be seen to be believed
Enjoy your break in the caravan Goldie. Another 10 days and we shall hopefully be off for a week. We need to re-stock and give the caravan a good clean first. We are very late this year for various ressons.

It’s our “go to” destination for a last minute quick break. An hour from home to relaxing with a glass or two. Except for the time we forgot the electric cable and we had to dash back home. We could manage without hook up, but would need to be prepared and take the right kit.

Agree,we are only on 30 years,but the idea of moving is daunting
This is the 4th place we have stayed since we got married in 1969.
The first was a rented flat in Norway. then we returned to UK and bought a house in Fife. After 5 years we moved to the west coast, where we stayed for 13 years before building our present house in 1988.
Today we have been house viewing with our daughter. They want to either extend their present place or move, so have set up a few viewings.
Yesterday we saw a fantastic place, just what they want, and affordable, but is the ground floor of a very large, split detached house. There are no agreements in place re shared areas or upkeep, and the upstairs owner is an unknown quantity, so they are wary of making an offer.
Today we saw a semi that was 80k less but that needed so much doing that it would never match up to the other place. OH said you would need to pay her to live there!!
For what it will cost them in stamp duty and fees to move, they could do a nice extension. The only problem is it will not get them into the desirable school catchment area.

Which part of France are you headed for TG? We are supposed to be off there in a couple of weeks but ATM is looking iffy as OH's sister has just been transferred to a hospice so we will probably end up rescheduling.

Pouring with rain here too, but I hope things improve for anyone going away just now. I looked in on here in the early hours as I've got a bad cold and couldn't sleep, I also looked at TV which was just as empty and with endless sales ads, I resisted a miracle pressure cooker...Going to spend the day in the warm with a box of tissues.

Hope you recover soon Brue. Dry here at the moment but forecast is for rain all day. Managed to mow the lawn last night so garden looks presentable with plenty of flowers, and azaleas and the ornamental cherry tree in bloom. Just the veg patch to sort although the spring cabbage is looking good.

A young friend of ours has just set himself up in business as a photographer (he used to be a photographer for Thomas Cook). His new studio is finished and he wants to take some photos for his portfolio. Wish us luck!2 -
Apparently a noisy night here. Twin rotor and single rotor helicopters. And mortar rounds between 11pm and 8am. I slept through most of it and never heard the explosions despite them shaking the caravan I am told
2 degrees at 7am with frost on the car, wind dropped and set for a nice day. Will travel out towards Kirkubrigh later

Brue wish you better. Both myself and OH have had 'vague' sore throats for a while but he now has runny nose too 😲.
EasyT where are you staying? I have a friend who lives near Otterburn she is a very light sleeper and often changes bedrooms moving to another floor 😲 because of snoring and claims she can still hear him, but sleeps through the army games 😂😂

Oneputt doesn't the garden look wonderful after a grass cut? Especially with the beautiful spring blooms. Our borders are forget me not blue, fresh green on the shrubs and red brats on some too, we borrow the white blossom tree from the green space behind us - it all looks even better with the sun out. The resident thrush is singing louder than ever this morning 😲
Raining here but seems more like summer rain, not such dark skies! I'm off to wash my hair again, I'm not overly happy with yesterday's results not enough highlights. Hairdresser says it will lighten with washing so will see before I phone. Couldn't make my mind up this morning when I got up 😲
Hope those that are away are having a great time regardless of the weather and those of us still at home are working towards trips. We are having the grand-dog for a couple of weeks apparently. Son and I chatted last evening and I can recall the original conversation after a nights sleep 😂. Dates sorted now have to decide if we to them in car/motorhome or they to us. We could get our first trip away if we go and pick up dog and travel from there after a catch up, hopefully the sowing on the farm should all be finished by middle of May, it's not yet 😲. Actually I think that sounds like the best of all worlds - off to sow the seeds in OH ear 😇

Not like the old days in Hohne
the night firing was something to see, especially the last night when the Americans/Canadians were there.Quite a nice day here bright sunshine and light clouds, still a bit of showers around but oh boy is it chilly out. Still fleece weather here.
OH drove the MH into town today to see how his arm/shoulder stood up to all the gear changing, no problems
went and filled up the Gaslow bottle in prep for our trip, it would appear we have only used 8 ltrs of gas since we put the system in early last year. Very pleased with that as we have had at least 17 weeks use. Today's top up cost a princely sum of £4.06.Was thinking of starting to wash the MH but its far too chilly to do that so I will finish making the padded covers for the cab seats in the MH.
OH off after lunch to see Physio terrorist for more exercises. So I will get a the house to myself for awhile
Brue, sorry to hear you have a cold again, hope its a summer one and will pass quickly.

Sorry to hear that CY I know you have been getting ready for the off.
We are thinking of going over to the East side of France this time probably do a bit of the Alsace, filling in some of the places we didn't do last time there. Might spend a few days in Luxembourg and up into the Mosel valley if the weather is warm. If not then as usual we head to where the sun is
September should I hope see us in Brittany, last year we took the Plymouth - Roscoff ferry and liked that. However the weather wasn't great so after 10 days we decided that, at that time of year it wasn't going to get any better, so we headed for the Med and spent around 3 weeks there in lovely sunshine. This year we will have much longer, 3 months in total so are intending to go down to Seville area.

Showers left off enough last night at "Black Horse Farm" for me to wash off the 'smart' before putting away in the rear of the "Concorde".OH !! Two more Concorde's turned up on site too !! In three years of owning mine ,I've only ever seen one in the U.K Then last night ,three on one site !!.(rabbit ,rabbit ,rabbit ).Left about ten this morning ,so dieseled up ready for the Germany trip ,then back to storage till then.1

Been to Bedford Hospital today for Margaret's appointment with the Rheumatology Consultant. The treatment for her Polymyalgia rheumatica with steroids has been pretty successful and she is now down to a fraction of the original dose and falling.
When we got back home I was aimlessly looking out of the utility window when I saw this cheeky chappy on the bird feeder!!!

Story of my life David seeing squirrels on bird feeders, both at home and on sites. Little pests always seem to work out how to get the bottom off the feeder so all the nuts drop to the floor.
Glad all's going well with Margaret's treatment.

It's been pretty wet all day here at Harbury Fields, though we've had a couple of short dry spells to get out and stretch our legs ( and the dogs' legs!) Feel sorry for the folk who have been arriving - plenty of them too - and setting up in the rain.
Hoping for something better tomorrow and a trip to Charlecote Park for a walk and a look round the site. It'Lloyd be a first for us, though we've often stayed close by.

...had a bad week this week. We were in Cornwall from Sunday. On the way home on Wednesday we had a caravan tyre blow on the A30. The wheel is a write off and there appears to be just a little minor/ superficial damage to the underside of the wheel arch. I'm taking it for the service people to have a look at on Monday morning. It could be an insurance job - no doubt time will tell. If it is insurance then looks as if our May Day weekend away might need cancelling.
The odd thing is, I didn't twig that the tyre had gone. I felt a little sensation at one point and thought I might have clipped the kerb. I drove on and there was no suggestion in the 'drive' that anything else was wrong. It must have been a couple of miles later when the smoke started......
Fortunately, no suggestion of either of us being hurt (other than my pride). I'm just cross about all the inconvenience and possible implications for all our plans over the coming months.
Oh well, at lest no injury was caused in the destruction of this tyre......

I'am sure you will like Charlecote Park Moulesy, we visited a few weekends ago, dog walking is a bit restricted as they are not allowed in some parts of the park. The whole park was flooded when both rivers burst their banks a couple of weeks ago,
Hope after today's rain it's not too muddy. They sell the venison in the shop there too.0 -
We've had a very wet day, I tackled the ironing this morning, couldn't believe I was ironing the tshirts that we were wearing only last weekend .
Back in a jumper today! Fairly easy afternoon at work, now looking forward to the weekend.
Oops David, hope you can get wheel sorted out quickly.
