Have a look at campingfrance, com. Choose Normandy  then Calvados, 118 sites listed. If you then click on map it will show where they are all situated, handy if you are moving on.

We use les Capucines just 6 km away the other side of the Pegasus bridge at Ranville. To our tastes a nice pleasant location with opportunity to visit the D day museum at the bridge and along towpath cycle into the port town. Quiet in May, June  and September at least. They also accommodate the late ferry arrivals for those needing an away from port area overnight camp site.

From our experience if you email directly you tend to get a modest discount.

I take it you are aware the sanitary blocks at Riva Bella have been refurbished just in case that is an issue, they were the among the worst  in France not so long ago.

When using Caen we tend to stop at the Yelloh Village just along from Riva Bella, they used to be in Acsi but it would appear they no longer are according to this years book. The name of the site Les Hautes Coutures, their website is quoting 20€ per night for pitch+van+car+2 adults so only 1€ more than when in Acsi, we prefer it to Riva Bella.

    Hi Tigi

i know the toilet blocks have been upgraded at Bella Riva as we stayed there last year - there were migrants running around the site being chased by police so would prefer to stay a little further away
