Up to around six weeks ago, 2014 Buccaneer Caravel towed with my Range Rover Sport TDV8
Switched to a motorhome, a Chausson Welcome 78EB
Keeping the car for the foreseeable, too much time and money invested in it for someone else to enjoy.

We have a 1996 Abbey Devon 'L' and is pulled by a 2011 Citroen C4 Picasso. Had both from new, the car I would have something bigger, but then I wouldn't be able to park it off-street at home. The 'van is a layout we love and we have never seen anything else that we like, she is kept undercover all year and although there are a couple of little dents she cleans up quite nicely. Off to Brittany in June. Not bad for a 22 year old lady!

Saw the post about not many motorhomers and that we may be snobs, certainly not us, we speak to anyone!

Fiat Ducato based Lunar Champ H591 motorhome. . Have owned this for a couple of years and very pleased with this MH. Extensive travelling through France and Spain done so far in this unit but the highlight for us was last year when we road tripped around the whole coastline of mainland Britain approx 4500 miles in a five week period and including the Scottish 500. Well worth doing that trip and the MH was faultless.

900 miles a week. That's a bit of a marathon. Hope you didn't blink and miss any of it.

We have a Quasar 564 towed by a Mazda 6. The 564 is identical to the 544 except it has a second lounge rather than a fixed double. It can be very useful when we need more seating or have grandchildren with us but the layout is no longer produced.

Eriba Troll 540GT, pushing an Audi A6 Avant BiTDi.
Picked the Eriba up from Denmark a couple of years ago and love it, fantastic van. Just changed the car from a Volvo V50 and the A6 pulls the Eriba with ease and has oodles of space. Always had manuals before but the auto is oh so nice. Great combo that ticks all our boxes.
Picture taken this morning, leaving Black Horse Farm.

I currently own a Sterling Elite 580 which I tow with a Discovery 4. I am considering switching to a motor home and quite like the Chausson Welcome 630. I am keen to hear from someone who owns such a vehicle to get their thoughts on it.

We have bought 4 new caravans since 2011 mainly because of warranty issues, with two of them costing over well over £20k.
So with the last one we've gone smaller and cheaper in the hope that less sophistication in a smaller body shell will mean less aggro with our new Xplode, sorry I mean Xplore 422, and so far so good...........
This is towed by our ever reliable 2008 work horse XTrail Adventura Explorer 170.

We have traded in an Elddis Crusader this year and know have a new Knaus Starclass 565 that we brought at the NEC show this year, it seems a very well built caravan but we can tell you more in twelve months or so. We tow with a 2004 Mitsubishi Shogun 3.2 that we have had for 12 years and never even think of changing it.

2016, Sterling, Eccles, Onyx.. One of the last ones made.
Fixed bed at rear offside, loo/shower rear nearside.
Great - suits us both - removed glass shower screen to increase nose weight.
Done quite a few thousand miles, showing it's age but we still love it.
Tugged by a Nissan X-trail, Sep 2016, well matched, you don't even know the van is on the back - have to keep checking!

So we are one year into ownership and absolutely love our set up. Tow vehicle is my trusted work horse the ford transit, fitted with all options including power upgrade to 170 BHP it’s a great towing vehicle with the added benefit of lots of load capacity once my tools and materials have been removed, bikes, dog trailer, awning, reclining chairs and all water containers oh and BBQ all fit in with ease leaving the caravan pretty much empty other than a few clothes and food 😎 Caravan is a 2017 bailey Barcelona which we love, plenty of room for both us and two shih tzu dogs 😀 Have to admit that caravans have come on in leaps and bounds since our last caravan, we owned a sprite major back in the early 90s which from memory was around 8 years old, had it for a few years and tow car back then was a Vauxhall vectra, both great at the time 😀
cheers

Have just returned to camping after a break of several years. Now with a 2015 Bessacar Hi-Style 412 Motor Home.
Prior to this we caravanned for 20 years, during which time we had 7 new caravans, the last two being Swift Challenger 530.
During this time we towed with 2.0L Petrol, and then Diesel Mondeos, and finally having two Diesel Nissan X-trails. The first with the 2.2L Nissan engine, the last one with the 175bhp 2.0 L Renault engine. All cars from new.
The Diesel Mondeos were good tow cars, but the X-Trails were excellent.

Just started caravanning with a 2014 Bailey unicorn Valencia pulled by a Mitsubishi Outlander 2.2 Di-d automatic. Both bought early August. We've only towed 300 miles on three trips so far but are very happy with both choices and wondering why we didn't start sooner.
