     American spellings are just one of those things that I dislike ..... wink

    If the spellchecker didn't pick it up, then that's another snag for the snagging listthat can be ignored innocent

    I was of the opinion that extension mirrors were only required if the towing vehicle mirrors did not show a clear view down the sides of the caravan, When we were towing with our Landcruiser Amazon both sides of the van were clearly visible, so we never used extension mirrors. Our Mitzi outlander just about shows all that is required, but we put extension mirrors on just to be sure.

    This is a really old thread and the mirror issue was mentioned earlier.

    You are pretty much right, Angel, in that it is the field of vision that is the legal requirement, not the use of mirrors in themselves. I doubt your Outlander is  wide enough not to need mirrors, unless you have a very narrow caravan, as the required field of vision is greater than just down the sides. I’d also have some doubts about the Landcruiser.
