This is our first full day on Littlehampton CMC site following our arrival here yesterday. However, we have lost that lovely sunshine we had yesterday.

Yes I agree yesterday was ideal weather for children to be outside playing and sure enough they were! The playground was full of children right opposite our caravan front window, whilst others were riding up and down on their bikes.

We need to be pitched opposite the playground because of the length of our caravan. Pitches 11 and 12 are longer than the other pitches, so the wardens here reserve them for longer outfits like ours. But like we said to the warden, we don't mind being opposite the playground. The great thing about this club site is seeing life going on around you! Children playing, people walking up and down. Nice to see all the buzzing that goes on outside our front window!

I didn't know that, I used to think that they were just built en masse! Nice to know that, AD!

I am so glad you now agree with us, that children should be playing outside.

When the weather is good, cariadon. Not when it's tipping down with rain though! Also the children here are playing by themselves, not doing organised craft activities by their parents or grandparents. They get enough organised activities to do at school. Time off from school should be time to chill and do their own thing! Oneputt was exhausted because he spent his whole day organising activities for his grandchildren when all that was needed was a bit of free space for them to play or watch tv if it's too wet to play outside. Much less exhausting, don't you think?

I am often exhausted when I get back from a long walk, or swimming session. It does not mean it wasn't enjoyable though. Our granddaughter is still to young for much more than sleeping, however we are looking forward to when we can do as OP.

We enjoyed hearing Prof. Barry Cunliffe speaking in Dorchester last night, his lecture was on archaeology from the earliest migrations to Britain after it separated as a land mass. DNA looks to be coming to the forefront....so I'm glad OH had got his test done earlier and discovered the Grecian ancestors he didn't know he'd got. wink

Anyway looks like we'll be finding out a lot more from ancient bones. smile

Well, I'm having a day off, doing either nothing or a few things I really want to do. It's a bit damp here but not too bad, I'll probably end up in the greenhouse as I have packets of seeds needing love and attention. I think it's warm enough now for them to grow quickly and it's quite peaceful in the greenhouse pootling around. smile

Millie & Brue, glad you both enjoyed your evening out, very different events  but both excellent.

Oneputt hope you both enjoy meeting up with your " long lost " relatives.

No real plans for today, but it's been a busy week at work so looking forward to not doing much! winklaughing

My wife's busy cleaning the caravan roof at the moment whilst I've just woken up from an afternoon nap. I can see her through the roof light giving the top window a real good scrub!

Fairly bright day here today, no sun but no rain either so we'll be happy with that.

Night of 2 halves last night, first half not so good, second half much better actually laid flat and got a fair bit of sleep. feeling a bit more perky today. OH I think enjoying my enforced silence laughing might even go out for a walk this afternoon, no far but around the village will be a start.

Glad Millie and brue had good nights out.

Enjoy your day of doing "not a lot" H&T wink

.... and while she's up on the roof polishing, may as well check the sealant around the Heki's. Save sending her up twice innocent

She is doing better than me then, now our van is to big to take home, the roof gets cleaned once a year when it is serviced. I suppose if I bought a suitable ladder, I could do it when we visit our local site. However, as I can't actually see it, once a year is fine.

Just back from a pleasant walk in the forest. Lots of showers this morning, but it started to dry up as we went out and now getting bursts of sunshine. Still very few signs of growth though, hopefully if the current temperatures persist that will change in the next few days.

Our caravan has not been cleaned since we picked it up New 5th December. Used 15 nights at Southport. I have been waiting for better weather to vac out, dust inside, repack car and caravan etc. Yesterday weather Thursday was a better day weather wise but  had shopping to do in morning,A home made set of shelves to fit in a narrow cupboard by the caravan door, Meant sitting half in and half out of the caravan and a dry day needed. After lunch was had arranged to go to a friend who is housebound to do s few simple DIY tasks and have a natter. Looks like no cleaning of car or caravan before departure on 15th April for a 5 week break. With all the rain caravan should not be too bad.

Mine has not been cleaned since last October, the roof 11 months ago. I will be bringing it out of storage next weekend and parked on the driveway for a good clean including roof, everything to go back in for departure 19th April, and returning 29th June.

Can't wait, first trip of the year.

Tomorrow is a quick visit to family in Cornwall (solo).

Yes she got it finished in time to make me a peanut butter sandwich before leaving for work. I've completed my commute to work but too early to start! She plans to clean the outside side, front and back windows whilst I'm at work as there's still 3 hours of daylight left!

Glad you had a good evening out milliehull. We live quite near to Elkie Brooks and just to make the ladies who read this forum feel better about not always looking like a star, and not being unkind, as Elkie Brooks will never read this, but she looks just like every other older lady when she pops to the shops. However, she is really tiny.

We're just watching the air ambulance in action, having fields around us helps for landing and getting to people quickly.

Son and dog arrived 😆. Future DIL might have followed later but weather good for drilling and spraying so no catching up with her this weekend 😢. All good for him at the dentist ☺.

He took OH to collect our car, pleasantly surprised with the bill. New spring, sundries and shock absorber plus labour 😃😆.

Our new V6 box and router delivered whilst they were out. Son installed 😉. I'm sure we could have done it - eventually!

Son dog and I had a lovely walk at the local estate, generally quite reasonable underfoot but a few areas of bogginess 😲 on the most unexpected places, on higher ground rather than the lower - obviously sub structure and drainage!

Glad folks seem to be feeling better. I awoke with horrible vertigo this morning,  thought I was going to fall off the loo, had to hold on tight 😲😮. Luckily the doctor gave me pills last year and I've taken them with each meal with a reasonable result. Fingers crossed, it'll continue, my head/ears feel 'full'. Hoping a nights sleep will help. It came out of the blue so hope it goes the same way!

Whole day with son tomorrow, he's to help OH put in replacement 6 foot panel - I'm considered too short for this task, I needed steps to do the 4 foot ones 😂. Need to look at interest rates for him and have a finance spring clean 😉. Hopefully more dog walking and cooking a proper Sunday roast before he heads off home. (Back next week on the train for lift to Gatwick for Las Vegas trip, lands Heathrow so easier train journey home). Remembered to tell him to come via Ipswich not London because bus replacement every weekend for Crossrail.

Lovely to have extra bodies in the house, but it's amazing how much they leave around 😉😉😉. Much better than everything tidy 😂.

Fantastic service. We were surprised when we looked at photo in the paper to see our local one had landed on a road verge amongst a housing estate. Skill with the pilot as well as the medics. Hope there' a happy ending to your local emergency.

We had the air ambulance land in the field near us a few years ago now, a toddler had fallen off a narrow boat into the canal. It will be impossible to land close to the canal soon when all the houses have been built frown

After a rather lazy morning, we went to Stoke Woods to give the dog a good longish walk. The signs of spring were evident, lots of primroses and buds on the trees. It would have been quiet but wind I  the wrong direction so lots of motorway hum!

Called in at our local pub on the way home for drink and a gossip catch up.

Have been experimenting with a new pizza base recipe, no yeast so no waiting, was a bit dubious but it worked really well. I will post receipt on food thread if anyone interested  (sorry Malcolm no takeaway laughing

Bakers:  glad car ok and cost not too bad, enjoy your family time.
