What a beautiful day! Wall to wall sunshine. I did loads of washing this morning which dried outside
. Hairdresser came to give us a hair cut so had a lovely chat and catch up with her. OH felt well enough to spend an hour or two in the greenhouse and planted lots of seeds which are now in seed trays on the conservatory windowsill. Went to the garden centre this afternoon and bought a climbing hydrangea which I have had my eye on. Then went to Lidl as they have trays of 6 geraniums both upright and trailing for £3.99 this week. OH then decided he felt well enough to go to his Engineering Society meeting this evening. He has taken lots of cough sweets with him so hope he will be OK.
Well done Husky. Hope all goes swiftly and smoothly. You and your OH will not only have lots of time to spend in your motorhome but also more time to spend with your parents.Hope you are fully retired by Christmas.
Bakers2 have you heard anything about your car yet?
Tammygirl if you and your OH are no better tomorrow it might be worth going to see your GP. Antibiotics and Prednisolone have done wonders for OH.

My Green Flag Mayday annual premium is now due. It's gone up from £101.00 to £103.50. It's supposed to be collected automatically from my bank account but it hasn't been collected yet.
Malcolm, I would check very carefully that it is in fact going to be collected automatically. We thought that ours was but it never happened. I didn't realise that and so I was without the cover that I expected for nearly 12 months. Luckily we had no need to call on them.!! If I was you I'd give them a ring just to be on the safe side.

Glad to hear that you've taken the plunge HD. Hope that sale goes through quickly.
Sorry to hear that both you and your OH are no better, TG. As millie says get to the docs if things don't improve.
Lovely sunny day here at home. OH had the washing out by 9:30 and and all dry and away by mid afternoon. The replacement roof light arrived yesterday and I was able to fit it this afternoon, phew glad that's done. Everything's now ready for the off, just clothes and food to load into the van. Wonder if I can persuade OH that we should head off a few days earlier than planned, as next door are having major work done outside, back and front, and there's a racket on and off all day long!!

Yes. It takes a long time to get the awning sorted so not worth it just for two days. Last season we always left the awning packed for the two days we were away.

I received a letter from them over a week ago to say that they would collect it on or around 3rd April and that there was no need for me to do anything aa it would be done automatically. Also they collected it automatically last year.

We've got up to a lovely sunrise this morning, the start of another sunny morning. If this weather can last through the weekend the ground should dry out enough to get our outfit back on to our pitch on Sunday afternoon. It's looking hopeful!

The sun's gone in again and some cloud has gathered so perhaps a fair weather day, today.
We've just finished breakfast of cereal followed by boiled egg with two slices of toast, followed by a banana plus two cups of tea.

No I haven't heard anything about that, brue! Does that mean there'll be no seasonal pitches here next year?

We went to see the musical "Beautiful" based on the life of singer Carol King at the Bristol Hippodrome last night. It's a very enjoyable show, but Bristol has to be one of the most infuriating cities to drive into, at least from our direction using the M4 and M32. When you get to the junction you have to contend with what seems like 4 lanes of traffic trying to filter into 2 from the ring road while you struggle to get across into the lanes for the city itself. And then you need either a degree in semantics or someone with considerably more brain cells then, in this case me, to work out exactly how much to feed the parking machines if you're there before exactly 6pm!
Good job the show was worth it!

Bright morning, off to our local Farmers Market today before work. Need to visit my favourite stall, running low on suppliers in the freezer.
Brue, enjoy your lecture.
Malcolm Northbrook Farm was on a list for redevelopment next winter, just can't remember where I saw the list, sorry . It would be a good idea to check to HO re seasonal pitches for next year.

Dry and warm start but overcast.
Oneputt aren't the hares amazing? Have you seen the barn owl over the paddocks or at its box? The little owls? So jealous 😢.
Mousley I missed, my own laziness in booking, Beautiful. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for those who enquired on the car front. Simple answer no idea at present. It's at the garage our usual guys - impasse here as OH reuses to phone and ask any questions, he could see how much work the pair have and one on holiday 😤😤😤😤. I expect as soon as they take a look, hopefully today 😇, and we authorise it will be quick. Just most odd not being able to drive anywhere, just not used to it! Still greater problems in the world. Son coming this weekend, he enquired last night - mind you vested interest as we are dropping him at Gatwick Sunday week for his stag trip to Vegas. (No firm date for wedding as yet 😲 but he and friends said theyd di before they were 30, one has just celebrated that birthday but others later this year!) Out Gatwick back Heathrow. Still OH can drive his car to Gatwick and then in time to Peterborough - getting back could make good use of his bus pass 😂😂😂.
Housework then walk into town for fresh vegetables at our market and meat from butchers stall. Won't be tempted by extras as no house taxi to call, bus fare for me ridiculous so maybe OH can do with bus pass and I'll walk 😉

Maybe I'll need to apply for a seasonal pitch at Rowan Park, Bognor Regis next year, in that case.

Malcolm personally I'd have a chat to HO in the near future and see what they have to say. I'd also think about alternatives. But make no firm decision yet. When are seasonal requests open to apply? There will be no guarantee that you'll get one even if you apply - will there?
Is there nowhere else, apart from club sites, where you can pitch? From the sound of it you have to be self sufficient where you are so a basic CL would be the same.
At the present time you have the time and space to ponder the alternatives and give them plenty of consideration before you need to 'jump'. Often without pressure it is easier to see the bigger picture.
On a similar line can you not find somewhere locally to do your 2 nights away without having to move all your stuff and caravan? A bit of a change for both of you. Again chat to local motels or as you'll know your dates. Premier Inn or Travel Lodge offer good no cancellation deals if you keep your eyes peeled. 😉your Tesco credit card would help here, more points 😉
Happy moving.

Not so great a day today as yesterday, skies are grey but no rain so far.
Another sleepless night last night, sat propped up again trying not to cough and failing miserably. Phoned surgery this morning took ages to get through as phone busy, 15 mins after lines opened I got an appointment for 16.30, usually get one for before 10.00, so one of the Dr's must be off either that or there's a lot of sick folk about.
OH still the same, neither of us has temps, but I've now not got a voice either, chest feels very tight but coughing less. I am now feeling hungry which is always a good sign they say. Still haven't been to see Mum there's no way I can visit her like this.
Just chillin watching the Commonwealth games.
Oh! sun just made a quick appearance between the clouds.

Sorry to hear you're both still suffering with this nasty bug. At the worst point, OH and I went to the docs with a joint appointment and got a thorough check over plus some strong anti-biotics. It helped damp things down a bit at the time. Hope you'll be on the mend soon, enjoy the telly!
