I got one of these a few months ago following Valda recommendation.

Now I am getting closer to my trip trying to download the App but can only get the Dutch version.

Anyone managed to get it in English?

Any assistance gratefully received.

Have you emailed the lovely 'Nancy' at CampingNavigator, Martatin?  It is perhaps something that's not available in English yet - as it's only this year that they got their act together about offering Best Deal to the UK market.  I know they are closely monitoring how much interest there is from the UK so if a few people email about the App they will take notice.

The more people who take up the card the more likely they are to think 'there's a proper market' in the UK and produce other products accordingly.

Reply from Nancy to my email received today.

    "Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately we only have the CampingApp available in the Dutch language.

We are willing and planning to create one as well in English, but not on a really short term.

So we cannot say anything about when it would be live.

In the meantime we advise you to check the campings on our website"

At least you got a reply!  I think BestDeal are monitoring how many users there are in the UK - at the moment there are not that many so I'm doing my best to encourage others to download this free card which gives a variety of discounted 'deals' including some in high season.

Yes seems more flexible than ACSI CC and it’s free. Looking at sites in St Remy Provence ACSI just have 1 whilst Bestdeal several.

    Thanks again Valda for recommendation.

Strange, am I looking in the wrong area!, ACSI has one in that small area of Saint-Remy-de-Provence and Bestdeal has two, not several. I will be in that area in May and am looking at any interesting sites.

Sorry was doing this from memory surprised. Thought there were 3 but in fact only 2. Mas Nicolas & Pegomas. Must have included the CC one. Apologies.

Never one to miss an opportunity, here is the link to Best Deal again!  Free to download, and lots of guides to download - either area or whole country............!  Just print out your own card and guides at home!  There are guides which show just the sites giving the Best Deal discount - and guides to all the 'Camping Navigator' sites - so choose carefully which you download.  And you can only download the guides if you've already registered your email address.  Not all sites on the website offer a 'Best Deal' - only those which show the Best Deal banner.

The Best Deal discount rate includes:

    • An overnight stay for two adults on a camping pitch, for caravan or camper (with awning), trailer or tent
    • Power: up to 6A or 4 kWh per day. Additional consumption is often possible for an additional fee
    • A hot shower: at least once a day, for two people
    • Pets are welcome, maximum of one pet allowed (if pets are allowed by the campsite. Always consult with the camping first.

    Not included
What’s not included in the camping offer? The Best Deal package does not include tax, environmental taxes and other government levies. Also, any booking fees are not included. Other paid services of any kind are for own account.

There are also separate offers on some sites in peak season so check each site that you may want to visit to see just what is being offered.

Hey, no apology needed smile I'm only interested as you are in getting a choice of site and thought I had missed something, more the better.

Thank you. I was puzzled because I looked on their website and it didn't give me either of those two campsites in St Remy - but it did list two others miles out of the town.  In fact I am still puzzled - does the app list different sites from the website?

I've just managed to download the App to my phone. Yes it's in Dutch but just open up the site you fancy and it gives you the tariffs ableit in Dutch but it doewn't take a lot of working out.

"basistarief laagsseizoen" Base rate low season

"volwassenentarief laagsseizoen" Adult rate low season

So if you have different discout cards then just pay with the cheapest

    Et

    Just looked for you.

    St Remy shows two sites

La Pégomas and Mas de Nicolas

We stayed at the first one three years ago. A very tight site on the edge of the road into town but a very easy walk to the centre. We weren't keen on the site. Had a look at the other. It appeared a much nicer site although on a slope with levelled pitches. The facilities did look a lot better. It would be walkable into the town but was a lot further than the first site

Thank you Harry.  That's helpful. When I tried for St Remy on the Best  Deal website search box  it only gave me one site at Graveson and one at Vallabregues.  But never mind - I know of other sites in the area and will be happy to stick with them. Regards to you.

How can one access a map showing where individual sites are? I've signed up and looking at Bavaria there are 198 Campsites shown but there is no way of identifying where each site is apart from going into each one looking at the map that is provided for that site and zooming out to give it some context. At least with ACSI they provide a map so that you can concentrate on the area that interest you.

So am I missing something here?

I've seen the map but my point was that it didn't give an overview of where the sites were situated. In order to find where a site is you have to click on the site itself and open the map for that site. A bit tedious if looking through 200 of them. If there is an overview without using the app then I can't see it.

All the Best Deal sites are in a separate file in 'ArchiesCampings'.  But I'm sure that yesterday I could see Best Deal sites on a map and click on them, much like on the ACSI site.  I can't replicated that today, and haven't a lot of patience to keep trying.

I'm confused now, I clicked on Germany, then map and it shows me all campsite locations (with number of sites inside of red location (as per attached piccy). With the zoom facility, I  zoom in to the individual sites that are shown in their exact location.

Maybe its browser or system related.

Metheven - I can get that again, now - and zoom down to where each individual site is situated and if you then click on the site name you get the details of the site.  However, when I typed my reply earlier this evening I couldn't get the sites!  Strange.

I just go into the Home Page, type in the country I want to search for, then click 'Map'.  At first you get big 'dots' then as you zoom in they break down into smaller dots, and eventually individual 'balloons' where each site is situated.

Or go down to the quick search on all campings, and click the appropriate country map.  Either way is now showing the sites, but earlier it wasn't.

I didn't know any different method. Just downloaded the App and zoomed into the area i want and look at the individual site details. What I have noticed when zooming in is that most site markers are red but some are blue with the wording 'Best  Sites' on them. I can't see what difference there is.

I haven't been on their website for a while, but when I last looked, the sites which accept the BestDeal card are, or were, in blue.  Like ACSI, they also list other sites which don't accept the BestDeal card.  So you need to check whether the site accepts the card.

I've had the card for a long time now, but have rarely used it, as I found the website rather tedious to trawl through.  Even though I'm Dutch and therefore have no problems with the language, I also asked a few years ago about an English version, as I couldn't download it over here.  At that time it wasn't possible, so I used to download it once "over there".  It does have the advantage of offering discounts on some site even in high season.

Thanks Ina. You make the vital point that only some of the sites they list are offering discounts. The rest of it is just a list of sites which are already on every other list.
