Where do you keep your aqua roll when towing

When I am towing my van I always finish up with a car full of items such as my aqua roll, waste master and folding chairs. I have a small 2 berth but their is plenty of room in the van if I could only find a way to secure these items whilst towing just wondering what everybody else does.

Aqua roll travels in a bag in the shower. On the shower mat and surrounded by towels. Waste master in a bag fits under the bed.

Our two aqua rolls and wastemaster, travel wedged together on the floor at the front of the caravan. A couple of strategically placed cloths, avoid rubbing points.  No bags necessary, just clean them off before packing away.

Aquaroll cleaned and in a charity bag is put in the shower cubicle,  and the wastemaster in the front locker.

Aquaroll held in place by one of those round extendable and twist lock shower curtain rails, and it spans the width of the shower cubicle.

We take the Aqua-roll in the boot of the car and the wastemaster is stored under the fixed bed

I can see the idea of having to carry a wastemaster in the Motorhome, but not in the caravan. I don't always need to take either but when we do they are both in the back of the truck.

The wastemaster is carried  in the front locker and both bagged aquarolls between the front seats with a few cushions. We were advised by the dealer not to carry anything in the shower compartment.

2 Aquaroll's, in pull string bags are put in the shower and wrapped in the throws (for the dogs) to stop them rattling about. the Wastemaster, also in a pull string bag, travels on the bathroom floor.

If anyone is interested, the blue nylon pull string bags available online from Halfords are very good for the price.

I too was advised by dealer not to travel with anything in shower. Aquaroll is bagged and in wardrobe and wastemaster under the bed

Like OP in the boot of the car.  I am also able to fit the awning in the boot so I have a clear floor in the caravan when we stop for a cuppa and get to the wc if (when) necessary.

You need to consider not just the space, but also whether you have enough spare payload in the van to carry these items. And whether you might want to keep the van clear to use for a lunch stop.

Our wastemaster fits in the front locker, the aquaroll travels in the car, along with the outside furniture and any very heavy items.

Further my post above and KNN's.  I also put small heavy stuff (wheel lock/hitch lock) in the boot.  This all save weight in the caravan.

What are the grounds for not carrying anything in the shower compartment? I have done this for many years in different caravans without any problem. The weight is very small, (6kg Wastemaster + 5kg Aquaroll. When in the shower compartment they fit very snugly in their carry bags and don't move about.

I get both Wastemasters in the locker at the front, and the two Aquarolls travel in the rear washroom along with the outside rubbish bin. A sort of ballancing act.

But what a state they can get into outside on some sites.

Never had a problem with storing the aquaroll in a bag in the shower compartment for travelling.  We just wedge it in.  Wastemaster fits in front locker.  Chairs, table(s), awning/poles (when used) all fit in the back of the car.

The van is totally clear of any items other than the step, which goes in last thing before caravan door is locked.

The very reason I don't have an aquaroll  - clumsy awkward things to carry so I do without. The same applies to wastemasters, wheelclamps, satellite dishes, barbecues, awnings, and all sorts of other clutter - I can travel more easily and quickly without them. Your choice !

I wonder if all those who carry aquarolls and wastemasters in the caravan have done careful weight check.

Ours goes in the van, stood vertically near the door. First thing to get out when we arrive on site.  Never been a problem, doesn't seem to move around at all. smile

The aquaroll and wastemaster both travel in the front locker. I only use one of two gas bottle spaces so the aquaroll takes the place of one of the gas cylinders and indeed uses the straps for the cylinder  there to secure it.

Chairs and awning stuff travel in the car.

I know it could be the straw that breaks the camels back but at a total weight of 11 kg for the two, (5kg + 6kg) it's hardly a massive weight to try to contend with.

2 Aqualrolls, one in the shower with the waste bin, the other between the front seats along with the Wastemaster all in suitable bags. Never had a problem of them moving in transit and never bothered to secure them with straps or similar. Just drive sensibly and avoid heavy braking!

Now what about the champagne flutes in the dedicated 'cocktail cabinet' of our Swift Elegance? Those have to be strapped in and wedged with tea towels to avoid being broken on arrival!

Now, does one put the bag over the item while it is outside and take it off when it is put inside - or the other way around . . .?

Might just pack a pressure washer as nohting in rules about washing kit, boots, dogs, etc on pitch - only caravans!

We carry all things large and bulky in the back of our old Hyundai Tucson, Waste master, aqua roll, Caldic BBQ, awning, sun loungers and coolbox with beer.

Still plenty of room for two small dogs.

I prefer to carry heavy or bulky items in the car then don't need to worry about the caravan weight.

Our two aquarolls fit neatly in the bathroom, usually in plastic bin bags, but I've just bought a couple of bags from Aldi to store them in.

As usual there are the worry brigade||The aquaroll lives in a bag in the shower alongside the 1970,s waste bin that can be stood upon when erecting an awning or sat upon when there are too many bodies for the seats! The waste carrier is a 1980,s fiamma flat unit that lives in the gas locker. It has been this way during all of my 46 years of caravanning and there have been no issues. The motor caravanner who does not know what an aquaroll is leaves me speechless.I am sure that he muist have seen motorcaravanners borrow their friends aquaroll to save moving off pitch when topping up their inboard tank!!!!tongue-out
