It's a lot easier for her than last year when we both worked for dinner2go from 12 noon to 11 p.m. 7 days a week. She used to have to get all the caravanning chores done in the morning. Now she doesn't have to go out to work at all because Pizza Hut won't allow her to help me with the deliveries. So she gets time at home whilst I'm at work. This evening she'll have an evening out at the Railway pub whilst I'll be at work! She likes the karaoke there on Sunday evenings!

I'm late to bed every night because of my job. So I have to catch up on sleep during the day so that I'm able to work at night. I usually find that an hour or two sleep after breakfast and then an afternoon nap before I'm due to start work, does the trick!

One of the closing drivers is leaving next week which will leave them short of closing drivers. It could mean that they'll ask me to do the closing driver job on some days. I hate having to do tgat because it means that I finish after 11 p.m. when the site barriers lock.

The other problem with closing driver work is that it is basically just providing cover in case there are orders after 10 p.m. Often there are no deliveries to do which means hanging around in the shop doing boxes, pot wash, sweeping floors etc.

It can sometimes happen that there are no deliveries between 9 p.m. and 10.55 p.m. and then two orders come through on the web for Shoreham delivery, just 5 minutes before closing time. In such a situation, it can mean having to work up until midnight because it takes time for the chefs to cook the food, followed by the delivery time.

The driver that's leaving told me that he found it too much to cope with on top of his daytime job. It meant that he was working over 50 hours a week.

Not all men are equal, or women come to that. If he needs to rest after slogging away delivering those mouth watering pizzas, then he needs to erect that one relaxer he owns and ...... relax. laughing

The diabetic clinic revealed that my blood pressure was too high. The hospital stopped my Amlodopine medication which was previously reducing my blood pressure. The doctor phoned me to question this.

Maybe he should get an easier job like fire watching. He could sit in the awning of an evening and do that. Not sure about pay rates mind!

He said before he retired at 65. I'm now nearly 67 so a bit older! I've also been anaemic for about 10 years now which also causes tiredness and I'm no longer on iron tablets.

Also, in the last two weeks, my hours have been longer because of other staff being on holiday or, in the case one driver, on maternity leave.

So recently, I've been doing four and a half hours, five days a week. They don't always stick to the rota. If it's busy they ask me to do extra time.Sometimes they phone me on a day off to ask me to come into work.

Yes, and I was still doing the same stuff off and on for over a year after I retired, so 66+ then.

Even now I try to get in my 10k steps every day, and never less than 6k, unless I am ill.  Just wandering around the house, out to the van etc is all good exercise.  We have stairs, so I climb them several times a day.

I hope you are getting treatment for your symptoms?  Anaemia should be treated.

I have various pills to control my blood pressure and cholesterol both before and since my triple bypass in 2015, and am now on vitamin B tablets too.  I also get regular checks on my blood sugar, which is fine at present, it is important to attend regularly for your checks especially if you have a condition that needs to be controlled.

Plenty of steps to climb when delivering pizzas to top floor flats! So perhaps you better come here and work for Pizza Hut Lancing. They're advertising for new drivers. Just think Kj, the money you could earn would probably more than pay your council tax and you'll get drop money and tips too! That way, you'd at least get paid for your exercise!

The government can see no reason why a person cannot work into their 70's, soon everybody will have to be 70 plus before they get their pension, so in their eyes anybody in their 60's are young.

You should really get your health checked out properly Malcolm, it certainly not good if you sleep all day and night after only working at most 5 hours and part time. Maybe you have something like sleep apnoea which means you are not sleeping properly, or maybe Pernicious Anaemia which also makes you tired., Under active Thyroid to name just a few.  get it checked ASAP.

Might be worth getting a pedometer Malcolm to see how many steps you do in a day. I have one, and I try and beat last weeks total.

OH was told last month to walk 3 miles each day, God knows where he is now.smile

Awww take it easy on your relaxer a try not to think about our wonderful NHS staff, on their feet up to 12 hours shifts or the emergency services putting their lives on the line to keep you and me safe.

Lit a candle for my niece this morning, she had a lump removed and now has to wait for radio therapy. In her early 40’s with 2 children under 9 years old.

Had a walk around one of our local parks then down by the river.  Back home planted miniature sweet peas in pots.

Afternoon will be spent in the garden🌷🌹🌻

We are just home after a lovely weekend at The Woods AS site near Stirling. When we arrived on Friday afternoon the sun was out and it was like that for our whole stay. On Friday night we had dinner in the little restaurant at the enterance to the site I can highly recommend itto anyone going to the site. It wasn't the cheapest but the food was top class as was the service. Last night we made dinner on the Cadac for the first time this year. That was our first time at The Woods but we really enjoyed it and at only an hour and a half from home it is handy and the views are great so we plan to return. That is now 6 trips out with the new caravan and so far so good. Not able to get away now for 3 weeks so hopefully they go in fast.

I remember you saying some time back that you were going to have to cut back on holidays because of the rise in your council tax bill! That means you could do with a bit more money surely, doesn't it Kj? Like you said, four hours work is easy for you, so come and try it!

Just remember NOT to walk out when the interviewer talks about minimum wage. If you can get through that part of the interview, you'll get the job!

I know plenty of people who are still working into their 70s.  There is a lovely lady who volunteers at the Cathedral.  She gets up every morning at the crack of dawn and does a paper round.  Then 2 mornings a week she catches the bus into town and volunteers at the Cathedral shop. Also the member of staff who I volunteer with at the welcome desk will celebrate his 70th birthday next week.

Instead, we have used Plan B and  cut out the more expensive CAMC sites!   laughing

Using 3 CCC sites over easter, all well under £20 per night, then 2 CCC sites, 1 CAMC site and several CLs in June/July, and CLs plus one racecourse site,  plus a month abroad in September.

About 12 weeks in total I think.  Not as long as our usual 16+ weeks, we want to spend more time with our new grandson this year.

The savings should more than  cover that council tax increase.  smile

Mmm, also good to remember that nobody actually likes to pay taxes, or, even worse, increased taxes, and that council tax takes no account of ability to pay.

And don't mention the "Scottish Income Tax"!!

Sounds good Francis! We have finally had some nice sunny weather here too, we enjoyed a lunch out today.

Next week is sad with a funeral coming up, the young man concerned had a survived a heart transplant in his twenties and managed to work on some projects he loved. I have to admire those who struggle with some of the most difficult things thrown at them.
