It looks as if they have a load of all weather pitches there now. A fortunate thing really considering the winter we've had up here!!

Collected my Aunt from Kingswood on the north side of Bristol and took her to visit National Trust Dyrham Park. For the last few years you have had to park up on the top of the Cotswold scarp and either walk or get the NT bus to the house. We had an interesting visit to the house and gardens. Although not as much as normal was open, due to continuing conservation work. On our previous two visits to the house it was closed, as they were refurbishing the roof. There was a huge constuction of scaffolding and fabric totally enclosing the house and you were able, on donning hard hat and high vis vest, to observe conservation work from the scaffolding. The work took a year and the trust expected reduced visitor numbers, but were pleasantly surprised. They seem to have made a good job of the refurbishment.

OH sends his thanks for all your good wishes.
I picked him up from the hospital tonight at 8pm he seems to be comfortable just now and not in any pain. That may not last once the pain blocker wears off but they have given him strong pain killers should he need them.
Shoulder/arm in a sling and told to wear it tonight for sleeping. I've to change the dressing tomorrow so will get a good look at what has been done.
Surgeon was pleased with how it went so all OH has to now is to start his physio in a few days and take care.
Time for bed now night, night.

We've got up this morning to a rather wet and grey morning.
I managed to get off from work on time last night and was back at the caravan by 22:20. Working again tonight the same hours of 17:30 to 22:00. I'll be working Sunday too with the advantage of an extra hour daylight, yippee!

Most of my deliveries are within 5 miles. I'm not sure what it would be in Scotland. I still get 80 pence per drop regardless of the distance.

I've got a lovely neat lawn outside my awning without having to do any mowing. The warden has mown it for me!

Except for a small area under some fruit trees, which we let grow to cushion falling apples / pears, we have done away with the grass in favour of coloured slates, granites and other hard landscaping. Doesn't stop everything else growing out of control,☹️ but at least the lawn doesn't need cutting when we come home after a tour.😀

I'm off to Bristol today, then lunch out tomorrow having cancelled due to snow last week (forgot about the clocks changing so it will feel earlier than planned!)

Good luck with the CT scan this morning OP. Hope you get the results quickly.
I don't think we will be cutting our grass anytime soon moulesy. It is far too wet at the moment. We had a good look round the garden yesterday to see how things are doing and would love to get out there today to do some clearing and tidying up but it is raining.

Wishing all who are or have family unwell a speedy recovery. Hope all that are away or are going away have a wonderful time and that the forecasted Rain or snow, Met office haven't decided which yet, will stay away, no fun having to wear wellies and mac to go to the toilet block.
Sun is shining here at the moment, so after lunch might take the dog for a run on the beach. So lucky to live 20 mins away from beach or hills.

You're right, taffyY. The thing she misses about caravanning is having her own garden and being able to grow her own vegetables. Mowing the lawn would be no problem for her!

We always try to find a pitch where the awning is facing south so that on a sunny day, the sun comes through the front window of the awning all day. It can get warm enough that way even in the winter!

Have you thought about looking for an allotment near the site for her, know of one caravaner on a seasonal pitch on a commercial site that had grew vegetables and herbs in pots around the van, would you be allowed to do that, might be worth asking, she could then have her little garden and fresh vegetables.

OH had a reasonable night, the pain blocker injection wore off early morning but he took a few tablets which helped a little. This morning with my help he is now washed, shaved and dressed. Dressing changed and the operation area looks to be clean and neat, no stitches but staples, he was cut across the top of the shoulder about 4 inches. This morning he has removed his sling to give his arm a rest from it, his elbow was quite sore with holding it in one position.
AD/Husky OH has 2 cortisone injections while waiting for the Op, first one worked great within hours of it the pain he was in had reduced a fair bit and within 3 days had almost gone, it lasted for almost 3 months then he had another one (surgeon will only give 2) the second one wasn't as successful hence the Op. Prior to this he had been having physio for quite some time but to no effect, his problem is he had calcification of the joint which cause restricted movement and the bursar was very inflamed, he can't take anti inflammatories. Here's hoping that all will be well now.
Hope both your OH and AD gets some result soon.

Malcolm, not really cold here, house is lovely and warm with the sun coming in through the South facing windows and even outside its quite warm, no cold wind today.

Have a good lunch in Bristol tomorrow brue. Remembers to change the clocks the right way. Many years ago my Aunt invited us to lunch the day after the clocks changed so we all arrived at the appointed time of 1.00pm. She was very surprised to see us so early - she had changed the clocks the wrong way!

Answered part of my own question.....the customer pays nothing extra for delivery, but there is a minimum order amount.
Not all postcodes are covered by the delivery service, according to the website, so I presume if you are too far from the shop you are not offered the delivery service.

A quick Google showed the ones around us don't offer a delivery service, only take away. So as the nearest is 7 miles away, it would make it a very expensive and cold pizza by the time I got home. Not that it is something I would ever buy in this way, sorry Malcolm. To me kept warm pizza is just not nice. Soggy bottoms and all that.😂
