Nice lunch in town withour friends yeaterday, but I think the outing was rather ambitious as it was cold and dull and by the time we got home at almost 5, we were both exhausted and chilled through.

Did not feel much like anything else to eat later so went early to bed and slept for 14 hours.

Still not feeling good, but have at least tried to start getting the van ready for our trip, floor cleaned and water system sterilised.

Sore throat almost gone, still coughing, and now have a cold.

    Things can only get better!

Now at Ilkley after leaving Diamond House on Monday. Pleasant walk from Bolton Bridge past the Priory along by R.Whafe as far as the aquaduct and back, and out for over 3 1/2 hrs. Yesterday we drove over to Saltaire for a walk and a visit to the David Hockney exhibition.

Thanks, Pliers. It's just as well we got on to the pitch yesterday because it's raining again today but won't affect us as we are already on our pitch.

Back home yesterday afternoon after a brief sojourn at Brighton. After the trip there in driving sleet/snow and the crud from road gritting I'm going to give the van a quick rinse off today.

I was planning to give it the full works but OH has suggested that I defer that task until after the next trip so that it is all polished and shiny for our trip to France.

Have my annual work party duty  at the sailing club tomorrow so I must conserve some energy for that.

The rain has stopped and the sun come out again. So hopefully, it won't be too soggy as I'll need to drive the car off our pitch to get to work tonight!

I'll be working 17:30 to 22:00 tonight which will give me about one hour of daylight deliveries!

On Sunday, half my shift will be in daylight because the clocks will have gone forward one hour. That's going to make my life a whole lot easier!

Did you enjoy Saltaire NTH?  We went a few years ago and thought it was such an interesting place.  I thought it would feel more like a museum piece but it is a very thriving town and community.  I also loved the David Hockney exhibition.

So much to see isn't there Millie, that's a place I'd like to visit.

At home today, more DIY going on, there is now a door shaped hole between a solid wall, I think it will be less noisy today without the sound of the drill. smile

It seems a lot warmer now. I'm sitting in the relaxer in the awning whilst my wife is preparing the food to cook for lunch. Feeling tired so I think I'll fully recline and fall asleep now! My wife will wake me up when lunch is ready.

Need to bring the caravan home to give it a wash before I go away next week, Its been in storage all winter and looking a bit sorry for itself. I’ve put it off the last couple of week due to the weather and this weekends forecast isn’t great but needs must!

Much too cold here for washing the outside of the van, so it will have to stay dirty for our first trip.

Arrived home late last night, up early this morning to phone hospital to see if they have a bed for OH. They did and I took him in at 07.45, he was first on the list so should have had his Op by now and in recovery.

My orders were to go home and he will contact me when he is ready to come home. So a bit of shopping on the way home and now thinking about unpacking the bags and getting washing machine going.

Shouldn't be too much as I did some  hand washing while there, not a good day to get it outside though as it keeps raining, so tumbler will have to be used.

Bed made up in spare room for the invalid, think he will be happier there without the risk of his shoulder getting knocked. Just got to plan meals he can eat one handed laughing

Have a good weekend folks stay safe.

A morning of Extreme Filing. I have a tendency to dump stuff into a box labelled "MISC". But today it's all going into the correct  files and folders. Where's this paperless society?

It's part of a masterplan to make the office more comfortable and user friendly. I have an very large old partners desk downstairs for the computer and current files, but we also have an office (the size of a small bedroom) upstairs for major storage (plus old computers and assorted IT bits, and the awning).

The awning has arrived down in the hall on it's way to the caravan - is this a good sign? Probably not - too early in the year - too much field work to do.

Next month we have a Big Event to plan for, and all the bedrooms will be full, so the office may have to double up.

So far it's on a "need to know" basis, and if you haven't got a ticket, I'm sorry!

Back to reality, Tammygirl! No more lying in the sun by the pool!

Now that I've woken from my afternoon nap, it's time to get the kettle on for a cup of tea. Working again tonight from 17:30 to 22:00 but I'll need to leave here at about 5 p.m. so only two more hours to relax.

Good idea, JVB66. It's delivered sliced so can be eaten with one hand! No need for crockery or cutlery, so no washing up to do afterwards. What could be better? I'm sure there must be a local Pizza Hut there!

There may well be one Malc in the town 9 miles away but not something I would do. If OH wanted a pizza I would make and cook it myself.

That reminds me, OH said we had pizza in the freezer that we should eat soon, something fancy from M&S or Waitrose that was reduced.

Only time I get pizza  otherwise is when DD invites us down, she makes her own from scratch.

Is there a maximum delivery distance for a pizza?  And does the delivery charge depend on how far it is?

Good news OH called he's sitting up in bed drinking coffee smile all seems to be ok and if nothing changes will be out this evening smile

Bags unpacked, washing done, well 2 loads and hung out in the sunshine, rain stopped at lunchtime and out of the wind its quite nice.

Now to start putting things away, have gone through the mail most things dealt with, rest needs to be filed away.

Yes Malcolm, back to reality, for a wee while anyway. Really enjoyed out relaxing time on holiday but it won't be long before we are once again away, oh the joys of being retired wink

We've a few jobs lined up for while the OH is convalescing, the main one is a painter coming to do the outside of the house once its warm enough to do so. OH has a few task allocated to him that he can do one handed, all computer based laughing

A glorious day for splitting logs then relaxing with a beer in the watery sunshine.

Took one layer of clothing off today - but understand it may to go back for some more snow later in the week.
