Home or Away for Easter?

We're at home this year although we sometimes take the van away for Easter. If we do go away we don't travel too far, usually Cornwall for us.

This year we'll be taking a break after the main holiday using the mid week discount.

So where will you be? smile

    I’ll be away on the first trip of the year. 6 nights at Sandringham CCC. Looking forward to it immensely

    We had planned to be at Lakeside for Easter, but given the amount of snow and thawing over there, and the fact we've got the 2 dogs in the van with us, we've changed plans.

    So it'll be down to Cornwall for Easter itself (finishing recovery from our recent flood!  frown)  then back for a week, before heading to Gowerton for a few days afterwards.

    Hoping the weather's on the up now! smile

    Unfortunately we will not be away in the van over Easter. We have been away a few times this year alreasy so can't complain too much. Going away just after Easter though.

    We try not to go anywhere at Easter since retiring. Leave space for people with children or far flung relatives to visit.

    We were hoping to get away just after but a raft of appointments and commitments means we'll probably have to wait until the end of April when we travel abroad. We can't really complain as we've had nearly 4 weeks away this year.

    Home for Easter but away the following Wednesday to a CL.

    Not "that" CL, by any chance? Still hoping to make it over there one of these days  (although I have to say the alternative CS just down the road was equally acceptable when we visited.) smile

    It's Northbrook Farm CMC site for Easter for us, now that we are on our seasonal pitch.

    We're also retired and can go away any time we wish so we don't go away for public holidays when sites are likely to be busy.  We let the families have the pitches and we'll be off the week after which will be our third trip of the year, having had to cancel one due to snow.

    Too much going on in Holy Week and Easter week, so we're at home.  Plenty of other little breaks in the pipeline....

    Like others we leave the sites for families with children at the bank holidays, so we shall be at home for Easter.  We then go over to N.Ireland for our grand-daughter's 10th birthday and we are straight into our daughters 50th birthday celebrations when we get back.  They seem to be going on for a fortnight, firstly with celebrations that we are involved in and then baby sitting for the grand-children when our SIL takes her away.  All this means that we won't be going away with the caravan until May frown

    We are home for 'Semana Santa' as well, having arrived home today. Hoping to line up another shortish break before our month long trip 'over there' though.

    Not this time M, we are off to another favourite in Essex, Burnham Wick Farm, very peaceful, environmentally friendly farming, plenty of wildlife, great walks etc.,

    At home over Easter but taking the two eldest Grandsons to Malvern the following Sunday for a weeks walking the hills and National Trust’s sites. Then a week at Morton in Marsh, which we had to cancel a few weeks ago owing to a hospital appointment, not been there yet but sounds nice.

    Back for a week and then off for our first trip ‘over there’ with the van for a month!

     Ken - Moreton in Marsh is one of our favourite sites. We were there last month, very cold but bright sunny days, great for getting out and about. Lots of walks direct from the site or within a short driving distance.  I'm sure you'll be able to find details of them all but if you've never been before and you'd like some ideas drop me an email - address is in my profile.  smile

    Family get together well away from any campsites, although the desire is there to 'do something' (elsewhere) prior to some UK commitments in May...will depend on one or two 'other factors'.....

    Heading  off  to Nunnykirk  Club  Site  just  after  Easter  providing  it's  dryish  at  least, with  the  intention  of  getting  to  Beamish  Museum  again  but  for  a  WW1  Steam  Rally  amongst  other  things  this  time  laughingcool.  Just  hoping  Nunnyk  is  dryer  than  last  time  I  was there  --  walking  across  the  grass  to  top  up  with  fresh  water  and  I  got  my  very  own  supply,  right  over  the  top  of  my  shoes.

    We don't go away over the Easter holiday period. We plan our late winter/early spring trip so that we get home midweek before the hoards set off for the long weekend. Will be heading off again in 3 weeks from now, at the latest, but where is still to be decided. Easter is the only national holiday we spend at home.

    Will be at home over Easter, but hoping to see family over the weekend.  OH will be working Good Friday, and I will probably do a couple of hours in the office too. Have booked a break for later in April at Bromyard Downs.

    Tend to avoid the Easter weekend and bank holidays, just find everywhere too busy.

    We avoid all bank holidays as its always too busy and ridiculously expensive. Far better just before or just after in our experience.

    +1 unless grandchildren are involved even then we will avoid travelling at peak times by going early and coming back late. As a rule we prefer to be at home.

    Haven't booked anything, this coughing and sinusitis is taking longer to get over than I thought. Van is ready so if we can get a late booking we might be away. Will not be booking a club site as their BH prices are too high for us.

    Depending on my rota, I will most probably be working over Easter. So I'll be earning money to help my finances and hopefully some good tips! Plenty of customers at home for four days and available to eat pizzas!

    No, cariadon, because we have our seasonal pitch here in Worthing which at £5.60 a night including EHU is an offer we can't refuse, especially as the prices everywhere go up during the Easter Holiday period being peak season.

    If the rota does allow me some days off, we can go out to visit places for free using our HHA, NT, WWT and English Heritage membership.

    That's why I'm glad of my seasonal pitch, cariadon. This way, I get to stay on a CMC site at peak times but at a bargain price. Excellent deal, don't you think?

    Have had many a squelchy Easter on grass but have enjoyed escaping, can't do it this year.

    weather reports for easter are not good, a 3rd beast from the east predicted, was planning to go somewhere local e.g. Witterings just to set up and see everything is in working order before we go to Spain 13th April for nearly 3 months , cant wait to get some real sun, so will probably stay home. Fortunate in that we can store caravan next to bungalow and have sufficient space to erect awning etc so all good. First time abroad so quite excited and nervous, Portsmouth - Santander crossing so hope weather is kind.
