A VW Passat Alltrack B7 (2013) TDi with DSG hopefully keeping in front of a 2016 Sprite Quattro EW Dealer special 'Freestyle' version. Started in 2013 with a SEAT Toledo 2006 TDi towing a similar vintage Eccles Europa 2 berth, followed 9 months later by A Freelander 2 (that only lasted 11 months) towing another Eccles 4 berth from 201. After life towing that with an Audi A6 estate we swapped both around the same time into the current outfit in June 2016 - that was an expensive month! No current plans to change for a few years although we personally like the very latest Sprite interiors. The Alltrack as a towcar is a reasonable compromise - not exciting and not upto Audi quality or driving enjoyment but is roomy, has 4wd, auto, and pulls well and all without getting into SUV territory. The Quattro is currently the perfect layout for the two of us (+ dog), very roomy, good bed, well specced for the money, just the 50 shades of beige interior we would prefer not to have.

Bailey Pageant Sancerre (2009) towed by Ford Kuga (2015) with the 180 bhp engine. The Bailey has had its faults (relatively minor) but adore the fixed double bed and end washroom for the two of us. Kuga is more than capable tow car and bought after trusty Mondeo struggled/bogged down on wet/muddy ground! No problems since with 4 wheel drive and will sit all day at 60mph up hill and down dale.

2016 Swift Bolero 684 Lounge with 2012 Fiat 500 Lounge and Ridgback and Trek push bikes. The layout of the Bolero is ideal for us two, plus cat, and is the 3rd MH we have had with this layout. Looking to change the car this year, probably for a C1 or an UP.

We have a 2 year old Swift Conqueror 480, a 2 berth end washroom layout. We don't have an awning, but have an Isabella shadow sun canopy for the summer months. Very much small space living, but fine for us.
Towed with a 6 month old Range Rover Velar D180.
Outfit probably cost more than we paid for the house, but we did buy the house many years ago!

2017 Sprite Major 4 EB, pulled by a 2016 Kuga 177ps Titanium Sport.
Love em both, even though the Kuga is very new to us,
Previously had the Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ

We sold our Ace Milano Nouvella motorhome recently (lack of funds) but didn't want to stop camping. Had to work with our current car which probably isn't the most obvious choice of towcar, but we seem to have hit upon a pleasing solution. So we have a 1.4 turbo (120bhp) Vauxhall Meriva, which has max towing limit set by Vauxhall at 1050kg/75kg noseweight. Now towing a 2012 Elddis Vogue (Xplore) 304 (max weight 1030kg). We've only done an overnight trip to Chapel Lane for NEC show (about 90miles), and we were far from fully loaded, but all worked together very happily and averaged 28mpg on the trip. It was identified as a good match on the various tow matching systems, possibly finding mountains trickier. Not sure the car would be so happy full of adults, but we travel 1 adult/1 child/1 cat so works out well. First 'proper' trip (with new awning) coming up soon, so will be heavier loads, but don't anticipate issues. Shame we can't fit our bikes anymore, but we have the new adventure of having a car with us to look forward to.

Having owned and been very happy with an Eriba Puck L for the last 5 years we decided at the end of last year we needed just a bit more room and an on board loo. We wanted to stay small and light so we are now the proud owners of a well kept 7 year old Lunar Ariva which we will tow with a C4 Picasso diesel. Our first trip out will be the second week of April so wish us luck.

I’m glad you are pleased with the Treg Richard. I bought one back in 2010 and it was a nail! The worst car by far I have ever bought and lost a shedload of money on it. VW didn’t want to know as it was an ‘import’ It was so bad in fact I was never sure when the next problem would arise and when it did arise(regularly) it was always an arm and a leg. I let it stand in the garage and didn’t go near it. I hated the bloody thing! VW halted the production of the Touareg until they got it sorted which seems to have taken place now. They obviously knew they had a problem with them. I then went and bought a cheap Toyota Surf 3lt which is now 23 yrs old and I still have and have refurbed to almost new. It’s a fine and worthy tow car. My caravan is a Unicorn Valencia series 1- 2011. Bone dry and hardly a problem with it.

2000 Rapido Club pop-top, all 5m of it from nose to tail, behind a 2004 Volvo V70 (yet another), which hardly notices it's there. Our first ever van after a life time of holidays in tents, it does what we want, has great character, and we love it dearly.
The extra light from the "upper storey" is a huge advantage, we feel, as is the low height when in towing mode.
Earlier this week we crossed a railway bridge by the Wedgewood Museum at Stoke, where there's a 2.30m height bar, and felt distinctly smug as we sailed under with 30cm to spare! It may occasionally be mistaken for a Duplo toy, but hey...

2009 Bailey Ranger Series 6 GT60, purchased in 2012 and almost trouble free, all I have replaced are tyres, exterior number 5 door (the one under the bed) and breakaway cable. Tow with a 2014 Tiguan DSG. We tow about 6000 miles a year and this has proved to be an excellent combination. See I am the first Tiguan here!

I tow our 2016 dealer special Corniche with a 2005 3ltr auto Jeep Grand Cherokee.
it pulls like a Train and is like a mobile armchair.
So much so it pulled us ( inadvertantly ) up three mountains in the snow in Switzerland last year!
This year will be our last for caravanning as we are selling up to move to Spain. I will definitely miss the caravan!

Bailey Unicorn Valencia (2016) towed with a Land Rover Discovery 3 automatic.
The Bailey will have to last us a few years, but I don't have a lot of luck with cars, so who knows.....
The photo is just with our awning roof out. I must try and remember to take one with the sides in...

Thanks Francis.
The worst thing about adding photos now, is getting the photo the right size. Even most photos you take on the phone are a bit too large. I have a phone app called 'Photo and Picture Resizer', which you can download for free from Google Playstore. This works for me.

David
