I don’t see if as throwing money away if you’re getting what you want in return.
Throwing it away is when you get nothing back.

but, if you think about it carefully there is a huge difference between a Sainsburys car park and the approach road to a site which is why they don't come and ask you to leave.
I agree CS, the biggest difference is that the site has, generally, loads of empty pitches just waiting for my van !!
You talk about blocking roads, entrances etc, and on certain sites that is a fair point. But you never mention the majority of sites, where there are LNA or parking available. And it still doesn’t alter the fact that if the CAMC let you in, there would be no issues.
As for the law / cash waving bit you seem to be forgetting one very important point, the site is already open. I can just picture you standing at the closed door of Sainsbury’s, vainly waving your money in the air, whilst lots of other people wondered around inside, shopping and then walking out the door. I suspect if it happened to you, you probably wouldn’t be impressed.

Apologies stupid was a bit harsh Ive never been allowed to stay as late as 4. 30 pounds in this day and age is surely worth it to have peace of mind that you can stay as long as you like in stead of wondering if your going to be asked to leave before you are ready, no one wants to throw away hard earned cash . looking at some of the £30,000.plus caravans and tow cars around the 70K mark im sure its done quite a lot.

We have a c£30k caravan if all the gear is included ie awning, mover, leisure battery, bedding, utensils, crockery, chairs etc. We tow with a from new £70K+ list price tow car, as was the last one, but we didn't pay anywhere near full price for either of them
We are the new family adventurers the CAMC are targeting. But we don't pay £30 to stay a few hours later. We do pay for a pitch from 12:00 arrival time, but are unable to take our daughter out of school early on the arrival day to get to a site for that time. If we use this past weekend as example, we got stuck in traffic on Friday after leaving home after school time for an initial 1h15m journey that took 4h.30m so we had paid for the pitch from 12:00 and only occupied it from 20:00.
Should we ask for a credit for the unused occupancy, or use it against a later departure?
As a family with school commitments staying late on a Sunday with the drive home on the crowded roads to our part of the effluent central south is not conducive to a relaxing experience, so is not done at all.
In summary, the perceived 'price' of the unit bares no relationship to the reality of caravanning by the new adventurers the CAMC want to attract.
Are we stupid? Or realistic

XC90, Toureg, Porsche 911 in lieu of donkey. I'm sure you get the drift.

Generally loads of empty pitches? have you been to a club site in peak? Certainly not generally there
You talk about blocking roads, entrances etc, and on certain sites that is a fair point. But you never mention the majority of sites, where there are LNA or parking available. And it still doesn’t alter the fact that if the CAMC let you in, there would be no issues
The club has said that the LNA are exactly that - late night arrivals. On the sites I've been to they hold at best three outfits, and actually mostly two and of course they could be actually in use? So you still have the potential to cause a large back up. Also what parking are you talking about? Car parks certainly won't take anything like an outfit as they are usually a dead end and in use? Why should they let you in? The current rules are 12/1pm and the site may be full? (as as often happens o club sites)
As for the law / cash waving bit you seem to be forgetting one very important point, the site is already open. You keep changing the goal post here, firstly it was the law stopping you getting in, then when that was overcome, you bring this idea that the supermarket is already open? Most business have a set opening time. But to go with your analogy, it could be that the supermarket is full? huge queues at the checkout? So they stop people coming in, happens on cinemas and theme parks? Or they could say to me, sorry but these people have paid to be in, it's a special deal. But of course that's the real difference isn't it, no one pays to enter a supermarket and you can stay all day free, you have to pay to stay on a site I believe? Also it wouldn't bother me in the slightest, it's their supermarket, their rules, if I want to go in and buy their products then I have to go along with their rule. Of course I'll go on their website and complain just like here (who wouldn't) or maybe go to Asda? Same with the club, it has it's set rules, you don't like them...

yes +1. When working those extra 6 or 7 hours on a Sunday afternoon meant a lot, what was the point of being back home at 2pm thinking oh well weekend over, work tomorrow That extra night's fee was certainly worth it.

one of my neighbours actually has a nice ass
It's called Tobin btw

What would you want the club to do for families like yourself?
Sorry but I don't understand your point
You say that driving on weekends to a site is not a viable proposition and with the drive home is not done at all, but this is totally due to where you live and the traffic there which is outside of the club's control. The club could half it's Friday night's fee would that lessen the travelling problems? Would you then go?

No problem then if you don't want to stay late.

IF the club decided to change the times, it will not suit everybody then. I am sure they have come to the timing of arrivals after some research or discussion with Wardens.
We complain that the grass is cut early, yet we want to arrive early, so when can they do it, We want to toilet block cleaned later in the morning, yet we want to arrive earlier, some sites only have 2 people on duty in the day.
You can please some people some of the time, but not all the people all of the time.

some sites only have 2 people on duty.
The phrase ' the tail wagging the dog' springs to mind.
0 -
why? A one set of warden site will be a smaller site, while bigger sites have three sets.

Should we ask for a credit for the unused occupancy, or use it against a later departure?
I assume that before you joined the club and booked a site you read the booking conditions? I'm sorry but why would you expect that?
I often use trains to/from regional meetings at York. I always book Newcastle to York but on the day may start and/or get off at Chester-le-street (10 minutes midway between Newcastle and Durham) depending upon parking, lifts...
Should I claim a credit from Transpennine for the unused part of my journey?

There's a lot of people who would agree with your dilema

I would much prefer 11am arrival/departure but it is what it is.
If the CC permitted earlier arrival - say from 10am; I wonder what that would do to Friday bookings? When I was weekending I often did not arrive on site before 7.30pm. If I could have arrived on site for 10am having had breakfast at home would I have booked a Friday for weekend jaunts or just Saturday and Sunday?

content removed - wrong thread sorry

Keely for future reference, and even though I'll probably be accused of nitpicking or it's not the done thing to correct spellings, but you should really look up the difference between effluent and the word I assume you want, which is affluent.
or perhaps you really wanted to use that word?

It’s the second time I’ve seen him say that so the area must be doubly.........
