ABS and Dash Cluster Faults
Hi,
currently awaiting repairs to ABS and dash cluster on out 5 year old Auticruise Rythmn Sport, owned from new, 26000 miles, well cared for as regards servicing etc. Going to be a very large bill and was just wondering if fellow owners have experienced this problem. My gut feeling is that Peugeot should take some responsibility for this problem, Boxer base vehicle. Or is this just wishful thinking. Any thoughts people.
Thanks for your comments

MG, not sure exactly what problems you are suffering, do you mean the ABS or the ABS warning light?
Dash cluster problems are very well known on the Sevel sisters and there is a company that specialises in repairing them at sensible prices.....

Might be worth a look.......

The dash lights are ok, but speedo not working and several engine warning lights eg, Engine emission unit warning light and ABS warning light. Complete nightmare and expensive job. All wheel sensors are ok. Computer reset hasn’t cleared it, garage needed to get advise from Peugeot HQ .
Thanks for reply.

It’s definitely a base vehicle problem and nothing to do with it being a MH.
Pursue Peugeot if you want, MG, but I fear you're on a hiding to nothing.

It's almost certainly the ABS unit module that needs repairing.
I had an identical problem and had the unit repaired at ECUTESTING of Heanor, Derbyshire for £185 + vat (£222)
I was quoted over £1500 by the Fiat Dealership and after having a pacemaker fitted to revive me I looked elsewhere - thank goodness I did.
Please let me know what outcome you have.

I've just looked up the problems indicated on the dash -
Dashboard Warnings and Lights show ---
EBD failure – see handbook
ABS unavailable – see handbook
ABS and Brake warning lights on
Check Engine warning light on
Speedometer not working
Exterior temperature not showing.
Do most, or all, of these faults show on your dash ?

Yep all of the above but have it sorted now, seems electrical fault has caused all the problem New ABS unit and dash cluster fitted and all fine on van now. OH needed to sit down when given price, however not as bad as first thought. As soon as I have fully recovered from my hip replacement we will be hitting the road to get our moneys worth.
no luck with Peugeot as you suggested.

Glad you've had it sorted out.
Did you have to replace the ABS module or get it repaired ?

Was it replaced because it couldn't be repaired ?
Hope you are up and running (?) soon and you do get your moneys worth.

Our dashboard cluster went wrong, with flashing warning lights, slightly glowing warning lights and so on. When we took t back to Marquis they said the warning lights were faintly glowing most of the time and would have been drawing power.
Apparantly this is a common problem on Peugeot (as thus I assume Fiat) vans. Something to do with water damage at the factory to a massive number of them in Italy and instead of throwing them away they were used.
Anyway we were slow reporting it which took it outside of the Peugoet 3 year warranty. Marquis argued the case with Peugeot but failed, and so they repaired it under their own warranty. It thus cost us nothing, but should have been around £1,000.
Moral of the story, get it fixed as soon as you see the problem. Don't shrug you shoulders and think I'll mention it at the next service like we did.
