The Ardeche to the Haute Alps

I am planning to travel from Aubenas to Aspres-sur-Buech with my husband towing our caravan. He drives and I plan the routes and navigate. I wondered if anyone has travelled either on the D93 north of Montelimar in an easterly direction across to Aspres-sur-Bouch, or the D94 south of Montelimar to the same destination. By looking at the map the northerly route looks best apart from the few miles in the area of the Col de Cabre. If you have travelled either of these routes I would appreciate your comments.     There are lots of You Tube videos of the Col de Cabre route to guide you - presumably you would go more cautiously than the biker boys who make the films.
