What are you all up to

In reality, most of us living, as I used to, in Norway, and much of Sweden have no need to site a caravan for winter to enjoy ski-ing, we just go out of our houses and there the snow is. Illuminated tracks are provided by the councils for the type of ski-ing that is most popular, the cross country type.
Only for downhill and slalom do you need to go elsewhere, and usually you would use a hotel or B&B or just take a day trip.
These sited vans are more a way of getting round the planning rules regarding the building of holiday huts, and also for those who cannot afford a hut.

You would need a very large awning heater!

Quite easily on here, KjellNN !!
Every so often this site runs sooooo very slowly that nothing happens, then again it speeds up faster than Concord - and I don't mean Tricky Triky's motor -- then behold double, triple or even Quad posts appear -- Just Like That as Tommy Cooper used to say !!

What do they say about riding a bike, thats how it was with the car
it was in the rush hour so a lot of stop start driving (did leave a bigger gap that usual
)for those interested the car is a Kia Sportage 2ltr 160 bhp petrol with 6 speed torque converter gearbox,(with "manual"? option
Also on the Manual sportage just traded in when connected to the c/van the fridge did not cool,(smart alternator)
But since then the cambus relays have been modified and the towbar company advise that this has overcome the "problem" and "fool" the alternator to maintain the fridge supply

Went out for lunch then on to the beach. Lots of construction machinery trying to put the hundreds of tons of sand back on the beach. Last weeks easterly winds had blown all over. Misty and cold down there, the wind has shifted back to the east

Glad that you were able to get the trip booked, OP, sounds really interesting. Happy birthday too, hope you had a great day.

ET, with all the windows closed we tend to get a build up of condensation along the bottom rubbers. That's a draw back of these well insulated vans....very little unintentional ventilstion. We always like to sleep with at least a couple of the front did cracked open, even on the coldest of nights. The only time we close them fully is when it's blowing a hoolie!!.

Yes, we used to have a side dinette end bathroom van and had planned that our next one would be a spacious 2 berth, but after my 3 month "retirement trip" 10 years back, I decided the fixed bed was preferable.
When you are away a long time in one go, the bed making becomes tedious.
We have a great end bathroom with a huge walk in shower, no longer available, so we are sticking with what we have for as long as possible.
Our dealer keeps showing us the new vans, but nothing matches what we presently have!

We very rarely close the curtains, using the blinds only. However if it is really windy, but warm, we will leave the windows open and the blinds down so that they don't rattle and close the curtains then.

Although we too go away on long trips we have no intention of changing to a fixed bed model. We like our side dinette and the large rear bathroom. Also our van has 2 separate wardrobes....so one each, with our own drawers/selves for the rest of our clothes and shoes.

OH has suggested we could go back to the side dinette, we could then leave the front made up as a bed if we wished.
However, she likes the big fridge freezer and the side dinette models seem to only come with the smaller fridge. We did notice that some 2 berths do now have the big fridge freezer, which was interesting.
Having reached the age of almost 76, just me, I am not sure how much longer we will continue touring, so not really thinking to invest in a new van as long as this one keeps going, especially as we really like it and have improved and altered it to our liking.
With OH being disabled, the spacious shower is particularly important to her.
Wardrobes! ......we have a decent sized one, but need very little hanging space so have hung an Ikea "shelf" unit in half of it.

She does, of course, but I get the drawers and she has to us the shelves in her wardrobe. Which van do you have,BTW, our is a Bailey Madrid 1

We're similar, especially when we have lighter nights, although tonight I see that half of the blinds are still down.
