Ferry from St.Malo or Caen end June
We have booked a ferry to Santander mid May. We will be travelling back through France end June. Can anyone advise whether we should book a return sailing or is it quiet at that time of the year. We fancy the flexibility of when we return. Any comments please ?

The quick answer is I dont know, and without a crystal ball its difficult to say, but unless you are really unsure about your plans you may be best checking on the booking conditions, cancellation/ammendment fees, and going for a morning crossing from Caen as it will likely be the cheapest option.
It may be that as you have booked a single trip that will affect the price of the inbound leg as it wont be a return fare-or it might not!
NOTE-cross posted with AD.

Brittany don't charge amendment fees if it's more than 5 days before the travel date. £25 if less than 5 days.
I'm not sure if that only applies to the original date or to both that and the new date ie if you're changing from say 8 days in the future to tomorrow.
I don't think return fares are any cheaper than 2 singles, at least when booked online with BF.

A lot of people who do low season touring will be coming back to UK in last week of June, and as prices Dover/Calais keep rising, this route is popular, so I'd book - but I don't like uncertainty - you may be comfortable with it.

We've done the St Malo Portsmouth crossing and pre booked. The ferry was full but it was around July 15th. I'd book, unless you don't mind getting to St Malo and waiting a few days in a local site for a space, that would work I'm sure. Pre booking is cheaper.
