We've heard this is a nice place, so we are thinking of staying here for a week or so in June.

Can anybody recommend a campsite near the beach please.

We stayed at a forest site in the dunes a few miles north of LaTranche  - very pleasant but it took a dozen men to manhandle the caravan in sand which was axle deep, so one of the sites in the town might be more sensible - Camping Le Vieux Moulin or Camping Bel. We didn't go to either but they have reviews and will be very quiet in June.

We have stayed on Campiing Bel ( Eurocamp static) and it is a nice site.

I don't want to be a party pooper but we didn't find  the resort that fulfilling. There are better resorts on the West coast of France.

Ditto... its a dump....had our card cloned at a local site a couple of years ago....fortunately we check our card daily via mobile banking so was able to alert head office. We had been booked in to a hotel in Florida via a booking site in NL...never found out if anyone was prosecuted. To be fair, it was the only time OH ever let card out of site when paying bill....even more street wise now !!!

+1.     Further up the coast Les Sables d'0lonne, St Hilaire, St. Gilles Croix de Vie and many other places both coastal and inland are nicer with lots of campsites and with more to do/see.  research online is a great activity for dodgy winter days.wink
