Just back at our house in Cambs, our tenant has made a massive lasagne with a bucket load of garlic bread. I've opened the rioja to breathe a while! It's only minus seven but a strong wind. The discussion this evening will be when's best to head for our site in Cornwall, I've already delayed the contractors I'd booked for Monday but I need to be there by Thursday, fingers crossed. I like a challenge but it's going to be a struggle to get the site ready how I'd like it. Hey I'll enjoy a few days in the house, seems weird all this spacefoot-in-mouth

I donned my thick jacket and big boots earlier and went to buy milk.  Half way there I met a neighbour coming the other way who told me the shops had no milk and no bread, so I came home and cleared a path from the street to the front door instead.

Might as well not have bothered as it has snowed again.

Then we spotted a snow plough coming up this way, however it turned off before reaching us and cleared a nice flat side road, while leaving all the roads on the hill still  covered.  Must be someone with some clout that lives along there!

Wind from the east now strengthening and whipping up the snow.

Braised steak and onions with mashed potatoes and veg. Good job I've got a well stocked freezer as the fridge had been emptied with us going away.

By the sound of it JK you'd be stuck at Exeter just now, a lot of snow problems and accidents. Our family are relieved we haven't travelled south yet. Best wishes for the new season.

Italian lunch  out today, now eating sandwiches intended for our not taken journey.  smile

It was Fish Pie at lunch time, and supper will be scrambled eggs and bacon.

What do you suggest we drink with that?

We've got egg, bacon, tomatoes  and black pudding, purple sprouting broccoli and jacket potatoes. A glass of red will go nicely with that.

We are eating our wy through what we have in the freezer now as it needs defrosted, so OH is having Waitrose cottage pie and I am having M&S beef in black bean sauce with egg fried rice.

Eating our way through the freezer does generally result in some odd meals!

Just seen on the news that all the motorways up here are now fully open.

Take care all in the snowy weather, no snow here just very windy in the Lot and  upto 15C today after a few very chilly days down to minus 7.

Oh joy, a message from British Gas, did we know our boiler has stopped working? We don't know if it's outside weather or a power cut. We are on a wind prone overhead cable. Cold house I think. yell
