Driving in the E.U.
our local paper says when we exit the E.U. our licence wont be valid in the E.U. anymore, so anyone wanting to tow in France etc won't be able to, how did we go camping in France before we joined the E.U.
And will we stop the E.U. country s Driving hear, as if our Licence isn't valid their than theirs isn't valid hear, and after working with Polish workers in Cumbria, their Driving is something to be desired

We'll no doubt find out in due course. Nothing is known yet.

I've actually got an Italian driving licence and have actually kept it up to date, pity I have no intention of driving in the EU.

Drove all over Western Europe from 1965 to 1973 even without a green card.. Most of the time I didn't have a passport either only a military id card, but then we were protecting the Germans fro the Soviets so normal protocols could be ignored If there's a will there's a way, but is there a will................

Stobart will be making " Loads a money " if only trailers are sent over here.
In the business section of The Times this morning the Chief Executive of Eddie Stobart Logistics says that the name 'Eddie Stobart' could disappear under a rebranding because of a dispute.
Stobart Group (a separately quoted business) retain the name rights and want to charge ESL around £50 million to continue using the name – and ESL apparently think that's too much.
Probably only a handbags fight but you heard it here first – unless you read The Times.

A bit of fear of fear mongering from the Express I believe.
i lived in Germany prior to Schengen and had to go through border checkpoints with my passport.
I have been stopped by the German police who checked my British driving licence ( I even had the dubious pleasure of handing over 30 Deutschmark for a speeding fine once ) and never even checked my insurance.
i daresay we will just have to go back to being in possession of all our driving documents while in the EU.
dont worry.

A clear positive article in the Express, three 'coulds' in the first 3 sentences! Pre EU we somehow managed to travel on the continent with no hastle. This type of detail has not been discussed yet nor have the EHIC and other minutae, I suspect these will all be on a sort of reciprical arrangement. Monkey, but you have to take your driving docs and MOT now and in future once you are in the Schengen area that's it no checks as now - unless you are a naughty boy!

Let's face it the Express is the fear and loathing newspaper as far as the EU is concerned! Nothing it likes better than a bit of fake news. It seems inconceivable to me that anyone would believe that we would not be able to drive in the EU countries once we eventually leave which looks like 2021 at the earliest providing we don't fall off the White Cliffs of Dover next year if things go really badly with the negotiations. Our driving licences are completely in step with EU regulations and apart from the EU markers on the licence I doubt much will change. Don't forget it cuts both ways so there is a joint interest in making such things as seamless as possible.
