Another gorgeous if cool morning here. I don't mind cold and sunny! Whitby for us today, St Mary's Church this time, think I could find my way round Abbey blindfolded! Always like Whitby, very interesting.

Anything that needs doing gets done by the dealership under warranty, SteveL. We've had several things fixed for free already! No problem!

The sun's come out here as I type this but I do enough walking when at work. So my afternoon will be spent falling asleep in the relaxer in the awning which is getting warmed up nicely by the sun coming through the front window!

It's been ages since I've been in a supermarket. My wife does all the shopping in Tesco whilst I'm at work using the Tesco club credit card on my account and she knows how to pick the bargains buying food at one tenth of the normal price because of bring reduced for being on its last day of freshness!

You do enjoy living life on the edge MM
Do you get to bring home the odd Pizza FOC at the end of your shift.

I do go along on shopping trips sometimes, it is good to be aware of where to find what in a shop, what is a good price, what is a good brand, I might have to do the shopping myself one day.
Going out shopping can also be good exercise in winter when the weather is not so good. Walking is walking whether outside or in a shopping centre.
However, we never see food at one tenth of normal price in our Tesco, usually never less than one third or one half off the full price. I take it you need to be there late evening to find these bargains?

Anyone else use the scan as you shop / self checkout facility in Waitrose. We love it, No queuing at the tills just pay and go.
So easy. Load your bags as you go round and you can see the running total as you shop.

We have used it since it was first introduced. Initially you could only use it in the branch where it was set up but now you can use Quick Check in and store that has the system. I am surprised more people don't use it as you can pack your shopping from the start and particularly at Christmas you save a lot of time at the tills. I don't know if its still the case but you used to have to have a Partnership Card CC to use the facility.

I suppose it depends on how many items you were able to add into your top ten. I suspect Waitrose will be monitoring very closely the use of the "My Waitrose Card". We got more money off using the recent distribution of vouchers than we did top ten discount items. As I said in reply to Steve I think it will very much depend on how often they send out the vouchers. Interestingly all the vouchers were for things we regularly buy and I suppose this is where the My Waitrose Card comes into play.

Very good today. We made the most of the last days of pick your own to stock up on coffee. Between the vouchers and the 20% off, over £20 worth of savings.😀 I will also miss the pick your own offers. I liked the fact you can even change them as you shop, using the stores own free wifi.
I do think these new vouchers tempt you to buy things when you would not normally, as they don't last long. Ours expired on 4/3. Pick your own meant the offers were still on whenever you visited. It is probably why they changed it.

Filled up with diesel yesterday. Put in 76 litres with a Sainsbury's 8p off a litre voucher. As diesel at our local Sainsbury's is £1.129, managed to get it for £1.049 a litre + the Nectar points. Feeling pleased with that.

............and there lies the big difference Malc, we never pay for anything that we can do ourselves and neither do our sons.
We were both brought up to 'try' to turn your hand to things, our parents couldn't afford expensive tradesmen and when we got married neither could we. Over the years of owning our own home we have save thousands of pounds by 'doing' it ourselves.
Maybe if you had learnt to be more' handy' then you would be living in a nice house somewhere, enjoying your retirement and not living in a caravan having to deliver pizzas to stay afloat.

Another beautiful day here today, started off a bit foggy but soon cleared when the sun came out. Went up to sons house again for a couple of hours to do more jobs, me in the garden (as usual) OH back in the attic. Lots more work needed but some of it our son will do when he gets back from Germany where he currently is on exercise.

Arrived at Moreton in Marsh in good time to get set up, quick lunch and then a walk up to Bathford Arboretum. To coin a phrase "it ain't 'alf cold, Mum" and according to one of Madame Kirkwood's underlings this is as warm as it's going to get this weekend!
Good to see the site busy even at this time of year and it must still be half term in some areas because there are quite a few children out and about enjoying the fresh air.
Still, it was a beautiful sunny sfternoon and we've found a pitch facing west (ish) so we had the sun streaming in till a few minutes ago.
Slight panic when we thought the TV had packed up - the thought of missing Winter Olympics, all the rugby and Anthony & Dec's Saturday Night Take Away just doesn't bear thinking about ( well, 2 out of the 3 anyway.)
Dry, cold and sunny forecast for tomorrow so looking good for another long day out.

Have a good stay Moulesy. We had a good walk round Stourhead today with our friends, very cold so not much spring colour to see yet. Had a nice lunch in the Spread Eagle Inn, lots of chat, now we can get ready for our trip to the frozen north...

No I don't think my last paragraph was a bit harsh, just pointing out that had MM learnt how to DIY he might be in a different position.
MM is always pointing out that living in a caravan has benefits, IF he is happy with that then good on him. However there will come a time as has been pointed out by others that even his caravan will need some TLC which by his own admission he is incapable of doing.
He is however very capable of responding to his own posts and I believe knows that no malice was intended in my post.

Pack thermals Brue. It's cold up here but the welcoming is warm.
Didn't think we were going to get out of the wardens office when booking in as both she and Mrs WN were reminiscing about Manchester. Warden off to Hillhead in March so anyone going there from Manchester way may get extra help!
Nice easy journey across the Pennines today, not every day you can say that.
Tip for anyone venturing up the A1 and wants a decent services to stop at then try Wetherby. 12 Caravan designated pitches, all on their own, and an employee walking around keeping an eye out for anyone who doesn't belong there trying to park in the wrong place. Couldn't believe my eyes.

Hi All
So, what are you all up to.
Today I'm packing up the RV ready to get towed into storage from our winter here at Marjal Costa Blanca. We have secure storage at Monstermoovers nearby in Dolores at 30 euros per month cheap as chips. We leave in our motorhome tomorrow on our journey to Santander for the ferry to Portsmouth
. It's been a great winter with really warm weather and little rainfall, just hope this year we have some of this sun in Cornwall! We're recharged and ready for another brilliant season.
Last year was a brilliant year for us working for the club, so we're looking forward to a "summer of '76" type weather this year and meeting another 42000 people onsite this year (as last year). Bring it on
JK
