We're off out in the van soon too.  We're going to pop up to Poolsbrook CAMC site for a few nights just to 'air the van'.

Thanks Helen, hope you feel better soon.

Have just seen daughter and partner off on a late trip to Cornwall for a family funeral, rather a long drive down to West Penwith after work but they will be staying down there till the weekend now so I hope they get a break too.

We have to come back early from our trip to look after grandson, always something happening!

Have a good night folks, keep warm if that Siberian blast gets any closer.

Two fine sunny days up near the border. Yesterday's trip was a visit to Bamburgh with an hour or so's walk on the beautiful beach before going round the castle in the afternoon. Today we headed down to Holy Island and a visit to Lindisfarne Priory, lunch sat by the harbour and then round by the castle, which is under an 18 month renovation project and won't be open till Easter.

A bit worrying that!!! Margaret takes two types, one for day time and another at night. I am not sure how many types there are? I think once an item of medication has left the premises and outside their control they have no choice but to put it in the bin but I am surprised that they did that when it had hardly left their hand!!! I was late finishing work last night. Two Shoreham orders came in just before the end of my shift which kept me working until 9 p.m. when I was supposed to finish at 8.30 p.m. Then I had to collect my wife from the Shoreham Tesco Extra with three bags full of shopping before returning to our caravan.

Day off work today, so we'll be having Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding for lunch with all the trimmings: Roast potatoes, Brussel Sprouts and Carrots, gravy, Horseradish sauce and English mustard!

Seems like a lot of work, Tammygirl! When I last had property, I used to get a plumber in to do all that!

Cold and frosty this morning, which usually means sunshine. Did go out to the garden yesterday, turned out warmer than I thought it would be. Spent a good few hours weeding and chatting to neighbours over the fence,

    Caravan in for service today.

Because my medication is the same Boots sends me a text when it's ready for pickup, saves going to the surgery for the prescription

. They don't deliver in my area . By the way how much is a prescription now?

Apparently £8.60 per item, or £104 a year for a pass which I used to have before I reached 60. At least there is one advantage to getting older.😂

Are they free, like the hospital parking, in Wales.?

Think of the money you could have saved M.😉 A plumber would charge a princely sum for that sort of work. I would certainly use one for the more technical stuff, but not for a water tank.

Yes SteveL, we are lucky the prescription is free, although my Thyroid tablets would be free anyway. The disadvantage to free prescription is that they tend to want to use the cheaper products which uses cheaper ingredients as fillers.  Some hospitals charge for parking but most are now free.

No savings there for me, SteveL. I wouldn't have a clue how to do a job like that! Now you can understand why I'm better off without a house!

Meeting up with friends for a walk and lunch at Stourhead today, if only it had been yesterday in the sun! Distinctly colder and dull this morning.

Not for me, Triky auto! I'll be spending my day inside the warmth of my caravan! If the sun comes out later and warms up the awning, I may just venture out into the awning relaxer but that will be it! I need to catch up on some rest after six consecutive nights at work!

The exercise of walking will soon warm you up, brue! When I do deliveries, I soon get warm walking up several flights of stairs in blocks of flats with heavy bagfuls of hot pizzas to carry! How many more years will I be able to do that for before I get too old to manage the stairs?

You'll have to hope your caravan sink or pipework does not start leaking. I doubt that is any less expensive to get fixed. Especially if our last van was anything to go by, you just about had to stand on your head to access the fixing.☹️ Compatible taps, especially the micro switch sort in our last van, made household ones look very reasonable.

Off to Waitrose shopping shortly, the nice marketing people sent us some personalised vouchers. Unfortunately they are stopping the pick your own offers at the end of Feb. ☹️ Hopefully today we should get both.😀

Perhaps a walk in the forest this afternoon, weather looks dry if a little cold.

    Steve

We used our vouchers last week, I think we saved about £12.50. Personally I think it's a better reward than the 10% off on certain lines as many of the things we buy regularly didn't qualify. It was also a bit of a pain to change your selection. The test will be how often they send the vouchers! I did read that one of their new branches is not taking part in the free coffee offer so that could well be the next thing for review? I would miss that if it disappeared.

The pick your own offers are 20% off, so a good saving, most of ours are  on things we buy regularly, so we are going to miss them.

OH is going to Waitrose this afternoon to stock up and use some vouchers too.

We find Waitrose good, our fairly new store is very smart, and the free coffee is excellent, but without any offers or vouchers it does work out more expensive than the competitors.

With so many other stores in our area, I think our  Waitrose will lose business by stopping the pick your own.
