We had fish and chips on Brighton pier not long ago and after eating them, we both got indigestion all afternoon, very greasy!

Fish and chips could be done in engine oil and I would still enjoy them laughing Pointless me searching out what seems to be the best.

At least in a 'chippy' the chips are not like matchsticks - that is why I never eat under the golden arch if I can help it.

Apart from the stale, stench of fried onions in their neighbourhood..

Talking of things being frozen it's pretty chilly in York this morning, snow on the ground. Will attempt to visit the Railway Museum, seeing the Tim Peake space capsule on this visit  should he interesting. V slippy underfoot so not much else planned. smile

You can probably get it cheaper in Tesco, SteveL. Chinese takeaways that you can just heat in the oven or microwave and prawn crackers too!

Yes I agree, redface! I prefer thick chunky chips too but the way my wife cooks them using a healthier oil.

Probably M but that would be a bit pointless, as I would have to drive several mile there and back. We very rarely have a take away and it would normally be a spur of the moment thing.

As to the prawn crackers, yes they sell them, yes they are cheaper. Are they as nice tasting. No!!

Had an email yesterday from our library telling that a book I had ordered had arrived so we went in today just before lunch and picked it up. Great.

2 hours later received another email telling me yet another book had arrived! Aargh. Have to wait now as I can't get in tomorrow and we're away in the van on Sunday for a week.

Had an e-mail from some-one called Philip Murray with a receipt attachment. A pointless e-mail as I binned it immediately!!

I was accused on the 'What are you all up to' thread of dominating the discussion and trolling, simply because I suggested Brighton as a more preferable location than the Canary Islands, would you believe it? Now that's what you call petty as well as pointless!

At this time of the year, I would vote for the Canaries rather than Brighton but then I wasn't a penguin i a previous life. wink

At the moment I just wish it would stop raining as the garden is starting to grow at an alarming rate and would like to be out there getting it sorted. smile

Rained all night here but didn’t stop the tawny owl dining or the dawn chorus so pretty pointless really.  Just off to look for a reported Snowy Owl, now that would be mega🦉🦉

We also had heavy rain overnight,  but dry at the moment .

Need to go and get another watch battery as watch seems to have stopped, hoping it won't be pointless, as watch broken😕

Yesterday I booked a short break at Hillhead, after the Easter holidays, so I got the mid week discount. It's easy there with our elderly dog as the dog walk is good and we'll try to get a nearby pitch. smile

    I'm lost!

Mrs WN has taken mother out in her jalopy. The house is quiet, there are no jobs to be done (well none that I can find, although I might not have tried very hard). The caravan is packed for our week away from tomorrow apart from those overnight things and I'm forbidden from getting into the attic to sort it out until Easter.

Oh well, might just have to have another coffee.

Pointless posting on the 'other thread' so I will say hello to everyone on here wink

Another lovely day today bit more of a breeze though which was nice. Managed to do 23 lengths of the pool today over 2 sessions againsmile we've now caught up on our sleep and feeling nice and relaxed.

Off to the big market tomorrow, there are markets going on all the time here but the biggest one is at Teguise on a Sunday. I rarely buy anything but I  do enjoy a mooch around.

Off out for a meal tonight, stayed in and cooked last night.

    Have a good weekend all.

It would be pointless to disagree TG as I feel the same.😉 My day here started with a bit of a shock as I got the boiler settings wrong and ended up having a very cool shower.  The day did improve, despite miles of driving and about a 9 mile walk we finally saw the Snowy Owl 🦉 albeitvery distant.  👏👍

Strange that WN whenever Mrs One goes out I look for jobs but end up drinking coffee and watching B&W movies 🎥

Pointless waiting for mothers day for MIL as we're off in the van tomorrow so opened some bubbly tonight and cooked her favourite meal. She's already had a pressie and she found out late this afternoon that she won a raffle from the garden centre MrsWN took her to this morning. Loads of crafting goodies no less. She filched the flowers given to MrsWN by the car saleswoman yesterday, so all in all she's not gone short and we can disappear with a clear conscience. So win/win all round.

We like that market up in Teguise, TG - whenever we'very been in Lanzarote we've always driven up there on a Sunday. Some good leather items and usually a couple of fabulous cheese sellers. It's 3 or 4 years ago now since we were last there, but we stayed for about an hour listening to one of the best buskers I've ever hear belting out loads of Neil Young songs. Best 5 euros I've spent on the island!  wink

Delighted  to  hear  you're  taking  your  exercise  even  on  holiday  TammyG  but  take  care  in  them  thar  market  place  thingies  'cos  you  just  might  end  up  buying  some  of  them  thar  leather  bound  cheeses  Moulesy  mentioned  wink

Oooh! Cool shower bet that was a shock  to the system laughing glad you saw the snowy owl.

    Have a good trip WN.

Glad to hear (on the other thread) you are drying out moulesy, as you say good job you go down early, what a mess you would have had. In 1993 my sister got flooded out of her house when the River Tay burst its banks. What a mess after the water went down, took them 5 months before they got back in.
