This is our first full year in a motorhome so plans a little vague, but we intend to go away every month for at least a few days. So far:

    March - Norfolk

    June - NC500

September - France and northern Spain

This may well be our last year of caravanning as we plan on spending a month in Spain, in August house hunting then moving out there next year.

We will however be taking plenty of UK based trips during the year.

I will miss my caravan though when we move.

They do have caravans and motorhomes in Spain as well. My mate who used to look after my place is just downsizing his MH.

Some great trips there, was NZ in a RV?  It's something we are looking at for this time next year.

Have you booked your New York hotel?  We stayed at the Belvedere, excellent location in mid town Manhattan just a few mins walk from Time Square.  I can recommend it.

We're not retired, but have booked

    Easter - Pickering

    May Day - Catterick

    Spring Bank - Woodhall Spa

June - 7 nights North Devon (site to be confirmed)

July -1940's weekend - Woodhall Spa

August Bank Holiday - Pickering (10 days on my own with the cat!)

    October - 1940's weekend - Pickering

We're also having a week in Germany (Bielefeld) in March visiting my son but staying with him and possibly another visit there in May when our first grand-daughter arrives laughing

Hopefully, we'll also have plenty of weekends starting at the end of Jan but with decorating and other expenses, we'll have to see.

We were discussing possibly buying a motor home in order to travel around the country as we did notice on one of our recces last year that there are a lot of places where motor homes manage to get quite close to the beach.

Well, when this thread went live, I hadn't got a clue what we were doing but we have now confirmed some details for our summer jaunt.  We've decided to give the UK another go this summer....

Two weeks at Globe Vale Holiday Psrk, Redruth; 6 nights at Ross Park Caravan Site, near Newton Abbott; 8 nights at Wareham Forest Holiday Park, one week at Littlehampton CAMC site and one week at Black Horse Farm CAMC site.  So basically, were starting in Cornwall and making our way across the South of England to Kent.  (Fortunately, we will have son/daughters staying at home for most of that time, to house sit)

I guess we'll have other short visits throughout the year, but may wait for the weather to cheer up a little first!

We have been lax this year in booking but the two big trips we are looking at are South Wales and John O'Groats.

Just booked Vienna for mid march.  We'll make up the rest of the year as it goes along. That's the nice thing about retirement - you can go at the 'drop of a hat'.

Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong. Must get a hat.

Fortunately we don't need to plan months ahead. We're into our second week of our first trip of the year and will be home for Easter. Then we'll decide where to head to next, probably Scotland, for about 10 weeks. obviously nothing booked yet. Summer will be Worcestershire for a wedding then the Cotswolds and continue on from there till mid August. Autumn will be the South West, maybe, for another 10 weeks and then it will be off again somewhere in December for our X-Mas trip. So many places in this country to visit and never enough time to visit them all.

In addition to our summer holiday plans.......also booked 3 nights in Cornwall in March, a weeks visit to Malvern C&CC site (with other caravan and tenting friends) in May, and another week in August, this time at Townsend Touring Park, Pembridge.

....thinking about some part-week breaks too.  The big question is will we go somewhere next week? Not decided yet!

That's 58 nights booked so far.

Not true again David. We will book a number of sites before we head off but will book others as where and when we decide to what location we want to visit next.

From previous posts by your self you have stated that you have booked sites so as to ensure that you get a pitch of your choosing so again your statement above is incorrect.

Not much planned yet apart from three festivals. Doubt the van will move until May which is late for us but work commitments aren't being helpful

The major festivals are quite luxurious nowadays I'm told with showers but we've stopped going to them. The lineup rarely appeals. We're trying Lechlade festival for the first time. Looking forward to it.

I wish I could have gone home during glasto for a shower. frown

My first Glasto was 1984 (and goodness knows how I got my parents to agree to letting me go). The toilets were the stuff of nightmares. That scene in trainspotting has nothing on them. The ones behind the stage were unspeakable.

It rained and my carefully sculpted Mohican flopped.

But worst of all Joan Baez headlined

You can turn up for lots of THSs with the C&CC without a booking. wink Which we hope to do this year as our plans are rarely set in stone unless it's a long journey north with ferry bookings.

We've made a few plans for E Anglia and the Lakes, that's about all, oh and a rally in Devon.
