We are taking the early morning ferry from Poole to Cherbourg.  This is our first time on this route. Have any members advice or experiences of stopping overnight at the port.

If you look on the port web site you'll see what the  charge is and what facilities will be open.

Hi Ezo, I will be there next Thursday night, just pull into a lane, or if there are other MHs and caravans already there just join the group. If they bother to collect the fee it is £5 per night.    The only rule they have is not to park in lanes before 10pm if there is a late ferry departing or you will cause an obstruction.     But at this time of year I dont think there will be any late ferries.    Check BF & Condor timetables for the day you are travelling.     There is nothing next Thursday.

No problem parking at dock.  I arrived about midnight, parked in a lane and got my head down.  Got up about 0700hrs,shower etc, then coffee and a bacon roll from the coffee. No one collected the fiver from me.  If I went to France again, I would certainly use it again.

AFAIK, you're supposed to pay the fiver IN THE CAFE, I paid mine there once.

never again, everyone just came in for a bacon rollundecided

The others positive there are no trucks loading from the park so it’s virtually silent
