Tunnel or P+O?
Hi,
We have recently begun shopping at Tesco and we’re wondering how the voucher converts to either tunnel or ferry crossing?
We usually use the north sea crossing to Zeebruge can you use your vouchers for this crossing?
Someone told us if you leave it too long before you use your converted vouchers they expire, as l imagine it will take some time to collect enough for a crossing then it wouldn’t be worth it?

You can use them 'towards' the price of a crossing so you don't have to pay the entire amount in vouchers. They can be used on Eurotunnel and they can be used on DFDS from Dover to Calais and these can both include a caravan, but the P and O deal from Dover to Calais is a solo car only. They can be used on Stena Line. It doesn't appear that you can use them on a Zeebrugge crossing. There are details about all the options on the Tesco pages.
I posted about this just a day or two ago - See here and I'm surprised that there hasn't been much interest as it can make quite a considerable saving if you have enough vouchers.
We don't shop at Tesco so I can't help with how long the vouchers are valid for.

All the information you need can be found on the Tesco.com/clubcard but to quickly summarise.
P&O allow you to use on Dover-Calais only. Car or Motorcycle - if you are travelling with a caravan as you probably are then the clubcard vouchers are not permitted. Not sure about Motorhomes.
DFDS allow you to use on Dover-Calais/Dunkirk and also with Caravans but there are some booking restrictions. See the above site. But they generally are more expensive
I recently used them for the tunnel (no caravan restrictions) and ended up getting more than 65% off the published price by using 12 months of vouchers. The redemption process is very simple and easy.

Hello Mrs Murdy, You get one point for every pound you spend in Tesco - so that's 1%. When you have spent £10,000 in the store (yes ten thousand pounds) you will have £100 in vouchers. Multiply that by three and you will have a free midsummer tunnel crossing for car and caravan.

Hi,
If you dont mind the longer crossings, I would look at Harwich/Hook of Holland. If they still have the offer they were running in Jan, a crossing for car/caravan and 2 adults was around £150 return in low season.
For Hull Zeebrugge, look to use the club offer of 4 site night vouchers with the crossing .The savings for Hull are around £250 compared to the same crossing without the vouchers.
If you are going to Western France, Portsmouth Caen (with 4 vouchers) can bring the actual crossing price down to around £200 return (+the cost of the vouchers) with an afternoon crossing, and a morning return.
I would have a play with dates and crossings using the online system. Just add the 4 vouchers, before the crossing details to enable the savings

We have been using Club Card points for many years now to purchase our Eurotunnel crossings ( our preferred crossing rather than a ferry) The vouchers do have limited validity but from memory that is about two years from issue. You can extend that period by applying for the vouchers which you then have six months to use. To gain the maximum number of points you need to use both a Clubcard and a Tesco credit/debit card. The rewards for shopping outside of Tesco are very small now.

At the moment I'm looking at Tesco vouchers which are valid until 31/08/2019 - these were, I think, sent in Nov 17. Vouchers are sent out every 3 months. As said above best value is by using their credit card for most shopping - we've bought food, electrical stuff, booze for OH's golf raffle, swimming pool subscriptions etc. and during several years' use have paid no interest by paying off card in full each month. We usually travel abroad from Calais (Eurotunnel) twice a year and have saved a considerable amount (sometimes getting a free crossing). This despite a 70m journey to and from Calais plus overnight at Black Horse Farm. However as also said above, the rewards obtainable from non Tesco shopping are not so good as they were. They are very easy to use, all info on Tesco site.
(at the moment I'm saving ours for later in the year and have booked a return crossing in May Poole/Cherbourg, costing £300+. .......ouch!)

Just give up on rewards cards, discount clubs, voucher offers, super duper blow smoke up your crevice because you are special clubs, and exclusive special secret deals exclusively for you and everyone else.
Buy your food in discount supermarkets and spend £7000 instead of £10000 and then you can afford privileged VIP tickets on any crossing of your choice and have enough left to dine in fine continental restaurants for your whole holiday!

I don't know how lagerorwine manages to get a Portsmouth crossing for £200. I recently booked a return for May/June ( not half term) for my MH and the cheapest deal the Club could come up with was £280.

The vouchers didn't make any difference to the price apparently so I just went for the ferry on its own.

Cyberyacht - I just checked again for my dates and times (out in April, back in June), and its about the same price as month ago. £282.50 inc 4 CAMC vouchers worth £87.80, making the ferry crossing £194.70.
Without the vouchers added first, the price was £368 for the exact same dates and times!
I usually check online, but booked on the phone via the travel service, as I wanted Camping Cheques rather than the Club vouchers.
I think the price obviously depends on which day of week and crossing time (its more expensive on the morning crossing from Portsmouth), and I haven't booked any extras like special seats or a cabin.
