What are you all up to

There are sites, not in this area, but if you're not too choosy about location where you can stay for £5 a night with basic facilities and no EHU. If you shop, like my wife does, in the right place at the right time, food for one person need not cost more than £30 per week. So total £55 per week. It's difficult admittedly but nevertheless, possible.

Now ignoring some salient facts such as when living in a caravan on £125 a week after site fees that it is difficult to afford a car and winter is pretty cold in a caravan without EHU when you can't afford gas that sounds like an ideal solution Malc.

Not possible if your in your late 80's living in a caravan with failing health and unable to drive anymore? If your just camping in an area but not a resident I can't see the local authority bending over backwards to put you in care at the expense of the local residents.

It depends how much you use the car. Our Shogun is costing very little to run now because we only use it once every three weeks to move sites and the occasional short run in between to keep the engine turned over.
Merve uses his solar panel and inverter to get free electricity! There are other solutions like power generators.

Because officially, I am a tenant. I have a tenancy agreement that has been endorsed by a solicitor! In fact my wife and I have a joint tenancy agreement. Having a tenancy agreement doesn't mean we can't be out and about in our caravan, does it?

Certainly not me OP!! I have a lovely walk to the beach.

Perhaps Milliehull likes walking in the rain, taffyY! It's pouring with rain here too, as I type this. So I think it's preferable to stay inside my caravan in the warm and dry! Enjoy your coffee morning, I hope its warm and dry getting there as well as being there!

We had a good day yesterday the weather here was nice sunny but cold. We had a walk around the shops then had a lovely meal at the local pub close to the site. Not much on TV last night so when we got back tto the van we watched a DVD. It rained all night last night you could hear it battering off the roof of the caravan looks like it is clearing up now though hopefully it does as we will be heading out soon.

I take that to mean you've not been watching any of the Winter Olympics, Francis!

I saw Dippy on our local news too, rebuilding him, quite a task. I've seen him at the Natural History museum. Will have to look up his tour .

Bit damp and very cold this morning, been into town to drop off a big bag of unwanted clothes at the charity shop, we've got so many in town now it's difficult to choose which one
OH had a look at waterproof coats, but couldn't find one he liked, and they say women can't choose.
Millie, how lovely to have all your grandchildren together, I bet they will have a great time..

It may well happen Malcolm. However, you are lucky that some of us have saved and will be put in that position. Councils are struggling to fund care home places at the moment, without those of us who will pay the system would totally collapse.
Clearly you are contributing little to funding your own future care costs.
Now back to watching the Biathlon.😀

A miserable wet day - but who cares! Our family is all together - husband and I, three children and spouses, and six grandchildren (7 - 20). A houseful of happiness and happy memories. More memories to be made tonight when we get together with my husband's twin brother and all his family.
Our elder son has arranged it all and we're taking over a wonderful local restaurant - Three Hares at Sedbergh.
This is the start of the 70th Birthday celebrations. Tomorrow, the actual day - I'm in charge and it's still on a need to know basis. If I told you I'd have to kill you!

Lovely walk down to the beach, only about 19 minutes from the house. Weather pretty good, blue sky but breezy and quite cold. Little sea birds called Turn stones on the harbours mouth, just love these busy little and amusing birds. We have a lovely large sandy beach with enough room for all to enjoy. Grand twins love it when we take them there. On a clear day you can see Scroby sands about 2 miles offshore, usually with the sea breaking over them, the picture I below shows the sands with seals basking. Got home and within 10 minutes sun had gone and wintry showers had started

Lovely photos OP. What a beautiful beach. Glad you got the best of the day. It has clouded over here as well now and is raining freezing cold rain.
