Picked the van up from the dealers, about 30 minutes away following some minor alterations. Quite windy but not too bad.
Washed the dirt off when I got back.
Another half job done. I found a job that hadn't been added to the list but I had already done it. So I added it so that I could cross it off. How sad is that?

It has been a lovely sunny, but cold and windy day. Took a picnic and toured the Pembrokeshire coast from Newgale to Fishguard. Did some walking, but it was too cold and windy to do the costal path.

Still confined to the house, although getting a bit more movement,so can now manage the stairs one at a time, and just to "help?" both of us have picked up a very chesty cough, and colds so Rosa is confined to the garden (not happy)but she seems to know we are not well,
I hope that i may be able to drive soon?as a very good friend of ours(retired cc warden) passed away on monday after having a massive stroke 10 days ago,and the funeral will be in Northampton
May have to try and hire an Auto to get there

Sorry to hear your grandsons not well Millie, i sure he will soon bounce back with a bit of grannies tlc.
Our granddaughter now on her way back home for the half term week. All her washing picked up and her 'things' she wanted to take home packed, her friend (flight buddy) got collected by her gran who is taking both girls to Edinburgh airport where they will be collected and escorted to the flight. Both girls excited at going home, one (ours) was also a little nervous at flying
I know she will be fine, they will be busy chatting and not even notice the flight.
Beautiful drive back home across country rather than the motorway as it was such a lovely afternoon/evening hope tomorrow is going to be as nice as today it felt like Spring wasn't far away.

Thanks Helen. He slept on the settee most of the afternoon. He was running a temperature and had a headache. Not a well little boy.

Sorry to hear about your grandson Millie, hope that he's soon up and about, as I'm sure he will be....very resilient these young 'uns.
After yesterday's rain, which "washed" much of the snow off the Fells, we woke to a very slight covering of snow locally but all the fells wore a thick cloak of white again, especially those around Cross Fell. We had a lovely sunny day but was much colder.

Yes I am sure he will bounce back in a day or two nellie. Sounds like you have have had a great day. We had a few snowflakes this afternoon but otherwise dry and mostly sunny.

It was absolutely manic at work yesterday evening, so they asked me to stay an extra hour. I got away just after 9 p.m. and was back at the caravan a little after 9.30 p.m. It's payday next Friday, so all these extra hours will be a welcome boost to my pay, plus tax back, due to married persons allowance, to add to it!

I pay £14.99 per month for Experian membership. This gives me access to my credit report which I check daily. I notice from this that even though my overall debt has increased, I still have an excellent credit rating. This is because of increases of my credit limit on all my credit cards plus increased overdraft facility with the bank thereby indicating that credit providers consider me a good risk! Barclaycard doubled my credit limit in one year and Tesco bank substantially increased my credit limit on my clubcard so that although there's increased borrowing the overall position is one of decreasing percentage of available credit which enhances the credit rating.
Clearly, with no mortgage or rent to pay, I'm in an excellent financial position and that's what I love about NOT having a house!

When I read on here posts about your boiler breaking down and having to call out an engineer to fix it, the first thing that springs to my mind is how much all this is costing you, on top of council tax, electricity bill, gas bill, telephone bill, cable tv bill, cost of new carpets, kitchens, bathrooms etc., etc. You say your house is appreciating in value but you need to think that when you move you have to pay an appreciated price for the property that you're moving to. If you downsize, the new property will have less value than the old one. So where is the win situation in that? Far better to get rid of it all and the bills to go with it and enjoy your retirement with the freedom of the road! There are club sites open all the year round, so there'll always be a place to stay and a welcome from the warden!

This discussion is enhancing my weekend, not spoiling it, when I realise how lucky I am to have got out of property ownership!

Because I enjoy seeing the favourable way that I look to the banks! There are financial benefits in being looked upon as a high value customer! Well done, Huskydog, for not having a mortgage but it's not just the mortgage but all the other bills that go with having a house! Also getting rid of a house frees up a huge amount of capital that can help you in other ways!

Incidentally, you can get your credit score for free but I like to have more details than that and to get that you have to have membership that costs £14.99 per month. Your credit score may change but without membership, you won't know why!

Oh, I forgot to mention to add to all your household costs, there's the water bill, furnishings, curtains etc. In a caravan, you don't have to buy any of these things. They come with the van!

I've been told by friends and also confirmed by my brother that I have a granddaughter! Apparently, my son's wife has recently given birth. He has a house and a mortgage. I'm staying well clear of that situation. I don't want to know! Families to me are trouble!
The only family I need is my present wife and my employer. My wife looks after our lovely mobile home and my employer pays me money. These are the people of real value to me. I know where my priorities lie! The CMC provides the rest with supplying me with sites to park my mobile home.

I know other posters on here love to see their grandchildren, taffyY. Sorry but it's not my cup of tea! I got enough misery from my previous marriage never to want those kind of people again in my life. My brother keeps in touch with my ex-family and I leave him to it. Since my last marriage failed, my brother took their side against me and so we have had nothing much to do with him for eleven years now. He refused to come to our wedding and refused to meet us before and after. That has been going on for eleven years. Good riddance of it all is what I think!

There is no point, taffyY, in dwelling on a bitter and unhappy ex-family situation. Best to concentrate on the real people, that I can actually meet in real life, that don't harbour bitter feelings against me. People like colleagues at work who make you feel welcome and the customers, who enjoy having freshly cooked hot pizzas delivered to them. Also the site wardens and people we meet on site and through the forum. These are the people that matter to me!

Unlike my ex-family, including my brother and his family, my manager at Pizza Hut has been good to me, taffyY. When it came to my wife's visa application, he bent over backwards to help with getting the past years payslips and contract of employment to satisfy the Home Office that I was employed by them as required for her visa application. This is of very real and genuine value to my present wife and myself.
