    I think there are complaints on most sites about "not enough"facilities for about an hour a day then they stand with little use for the next 22 hourswink

    That rear gate always used to be key operated until recently.

    Interesting replies.

    Some members can't see, some, like me can't remember. So we have a catch 22 situation.

    Whichever method is used someone is going to get caught short embarassed

    But aren't most caravans and motorhomes fitted with a toilet now ???, so why the queue for the toilet block

    No permission given by the site but the club are aware now so hopefully they’ll do something about it.

    Agree with vans having facilities but the question was, what happens when you get there and have forgotten the key, no mention of queuing.

    I note Keswick allows motorhomes to stop off and use the facilities for a fee. How do you know they have not paid for the service?

    Club have to use some form of security at some sites. We were at Exeter Racecourse when undesirables descended. One unsavoury character threatened an elderly member badly until he gave the code for the gents loos. Site is now more secure from actual entrance thank goodness. Clumber is rife with none member visitors as it has no security fence.

    For those with CRAFT tendencies, keep a key chain (long thin chain) handy and put key on this either attached to belt loop, or around neck. Piece of paper in pocket for codes, and most smart phones come with a torch setting for those hardy/desperate enough to venture out in dark!smile

    Rarely use our own shower if we have already paid for facilities, why clean our own shower having paid for a clean shower is our view.

    Much prefer the key, I leave it under a nearby plantpot.

    The numeric keypads are a pain. They are costly to maintain as they suffer from breakdowns fairly often.

    Are you all aware that it's not necessary to remember the correct order of the numbers of a code? As long as you input the C (for Clear) at the beginning, the numbers can be keyed in any order. This helps those of us who have trouble remembering the code.

    Don't know if it applies to the electronic type they have at Clumber. No C on those. There is also one on the changing room at the leisure club, I will give it a go when we next visit.

    They are much better than the mechanical ones though, as the keypad is angled and it is much easier to see and hit the right keys, especially in the dark.

    The C&CC have confirmed today that this is not the case at any of their sites. They are in the process of stepping up security at sites where this is a problem.

    I would expect that before the motorhome user can pat to use facilities he may have to actually bring his unit onto site?

    Possibly ET,  but the point is the C&C.C  do allow motorhome owners to use their facilities at many of their sites for a fee even though they are not staying on site. Keswick is one of them.

    I spoke to a rep from the C&CC yesterday who was responding to an email I sent them on the subject.  We’re talking specifically about people who park outside a site but walk in to use the facilities.

    It may be that the independently owned sites that are part of the overall C&CC network can do as they choose on this issue, as the ones in the CC network are inclined to do also.

    That sounds a slightly different matter from the system of letting MHs pay £7, or whatever, for a few hours use of facilities. It seems to be more an issue of tightening security to keep chancers at bay.

    They confirmed that none of the club sites are permitted to take a donation for use of the facilities. You’re either staying on site and have paid the full fee or you’re not and you don’t.

    Has anyone seen this announced elsewhere by C&CC as it seems a change of policy. It’s the approach that CAMC take but a u-turn for C&CC.
