Where to go in France with our dogs?
Last year we took our caravan and two collies to the South of France, where it was a bit hot and then to the French Alps where it was beautiful. Has anyone got any recommendations as to where we could go this year.

When are you going, Ron? The problem is that much of France can be very hot at times, but if you're going outside peak season then you needn't really decide 'where' until you're actually in France, and can look at a ten day or so weather forecast. Head for an area where the temperatures are in the rang where you'd be comfortable.
As far as dog-friendly, I'd always suggest riverside sites where the dog can cool off in some nice fast flowing water. There are many rivers where you can find lovely sites. Take a look at the Eurocampings.co.uk website (not Eurocamp, the ready-tent specialist) - and you can use the Advanced search facility to discover riverside sites. Those displaying a CC logo offer a discount with the ACSI Card, but there are many more sites outside of the ACSI Card scheme.

We take our dog each year - from early March to end-May or mid-June.
So far we've travelled the length of the Med and as far as Faro...plus north along the Spanish/Portuguese border without any issues. The warmest time was May-2017 but I think that was an exceptional period. We always try to get the caravan facing west so that the door is North and shadow is generally available. We walk him early in the day, and have a leisurely evening stroll with him able to enjoy the coolness. Unless your dogs are highly sensitive to heat, I would recommend that time of year.
