It was my birthday yesterday and I had a great day.  Lovely lunch out with OH and then my greatest friend popped round in the afternoon for a cup of tea and a chat.  In the evening we had a family outing to a panto that our daughter and 3 grandchildren were involved in their village.  Daughter and 2 youngest were acting in it and eldest grand-daughter was the director.  It was a great evening - such good fun.  We haven't laughed so much for ages.  Today they are all coming round here to eat later. Think I might be coming down with a cold frown

We are just home fr om a lovely weekend at Loch Lomond. Had an uneventfuly drive home but the Caravan got filthy the weather was nice when we got home so I gave the van a wash so it is now sitting in the drive nice and shiney ready for the off again near the end of next week. Just taking a break then heading out to wash the Volvo which is also caked in dirt after the weekend. Hope everyone else is having a nice day.

Managed to get the car insurance sorted out and I haven't yet received any marketing bumpf from any of the usual suspects or even any emails from the comparison websites. They can all just go in the bin or be Deleted User.

Current insurers actually gave me a discount for being an existing customer and I paid less than last year so why have the hassle of looking around?

A beautiful sunny day, after a roast Pork dinner, took the dog for a long walk, hoping to walk off some calories.

Caravan in for a service in 2 weeks then we will be away for the first holiday this year, haven't decided where to yet.

Freezing cold, lots of salt going onto the M5, weather forecast looks a bit iffy.

Haven't looked at this while we've been away so hope I haven't missed anything vital! wink

Happy Birthday for yesterday, millie, have I missed anyone else?

28°C by the pool yesterday, 3°C when we arrived back at Gatwick today, time to put those shorts away for a little while I think!

    Lovely weekend with the family.

True to form it snowed here, first sign of it was as we crossed woodhead. Thankfully it didn't lay for long.

    Much better weather today.

JVB, hope you recover soon. Rest your knee and do as you are advised, when I hurt my left knee last September it took weeks before I could drive and even longer before I could kneel on it.

    Happy belated birthday MillieH.

Welcome back Moulesy,  bit colder here then laughing

Visited our new Waitrose this afternoon, only been open just over a week, nice store but thought it was expensive.

Decided to book a weekend away in April at Bromyard Downs, a site I've often thought of visiting.smile

Welcome back moulesy. You could have brought some if that warm weather back with you though.

Enjoy your stay at Bromyard Downs, it's a site we like a lot. Good walking on the downs for the dog and down to Lower Brockhampton (N/T).  There's a decent pub within walking distance below the top section of the downs. We prefer the pitches on upper level as the lower one seems more confined, although it's probably a bit quieter, road noise wise.

Welcome back from us too, Moulesy. Hope that you had a great time away. You've not missed a lot on here, very much same old same old. We could certainly do with some of the fine warm weather that you've had so hopefully you'll have brought it back with you.

The forecast says it will get colder by Wedmesday this week, minus 7 in some places. Make the most of it because Spring and Summer are around the corner with the intense heat that goes with it! Summers for me are extremely hot in the Pizza Hut kitchens with the ovens all going full blast! I love this cold weather when I'm working, it gives me more energy! That is why productivity is so much higher here than in hotter climates further south.

Fast service, ordered a floor lamp from Argos on Saturday night and it arrived at 8 am Sunday only failure was the need for an extra bulb. So off to get that sorted this morning, frost melting in the sunshine but very cold outside. Sadly a funeral today in local churchyard, so not the best of days but at least it's dry.

We like Bromyard Downs as well. Good dog walking across road from entrance up onto heathland, but beware of road it is a fast one! Some interesting places to visit all around. We used it as a first night stop on our way to South Wales. Witley Court (EH) is not far away, has a nice cafe next door in a walled garden.

    Belated happy birthday milliehull.

    Speedy recovery JVB.

Glad you're home safe mousley, shame about temperature change😲 ⛄🍙.

Good to read others news. Not had wifi for couple or so days.

Celebrated my birthday on Monday. That's 2 years of pension I saved for not paid to me at the orginal contracted time 😤😭😢.

If only all February birthdays could be like this. Went to the beach at Tauranga, 2 cruise ships in the harbour. Morning tea at pavement cafe, a walk around The Mount (Mount Maunganui, easier to say the mount) a peninsula taking about 30 minutes, lunch at different pavement cafe, beach walk and paddle in the Pacific. All 3 grown ups didn't check street name where we parked 😲 so several abortive streets done until we applied logic 😂 and knew where we'd driven past 😂😂😂 2 fire engines and evacuated building and then our walk past the underground park exit with silent - ?hybird? car exiting we didnt hear/see until almost on us. He couldnt see pavement clearly so could have been nasty, then the coffee shop we passed. Not even an alchol excuse! Forecast rain held off but poured for short spurts driving through the Kaimai Range. Birthday cake candles and singing granddaughters in person 😍. Still in sleeveless top outside at 8.30pm. Apparently Hamilton where we stay had the heavy rain and thunder in our absence, not forecast for here!

Been chasing our car hire company as our rego, RFL, expired on 6 January as someone pointed out it was then 3 weeks out of date! Last birthday present was it had finally arrived from Auckland via courier post. Should have been here last Wednesday or Thursday, was sent on 30th after long discussion about us not driving to Auckland 😤😭. Very casual about it here, everything is 'no worries' 😲. Instant fine for non display and we have car until 15 March.  Won't be using them again and their review will reflect the service.

Another beautiful day and it's a public holiday so we're just chillin.

Stay safe and warm folks. Thankfully we've lost those high temps pleasant 23 and breeze 😉😉😉

That's a lovely site, H&T. We once used it for an overnight stop and the warden was very nice and helpful. He gave us a pitch near the front gate so that we could get away early in the morning and he let us park hitched up to save us the work of unhitching and hitching up next morning.

We've changed our itinerary for the remainder of the winter. Instead of spending 21 nights at Gatwick we have reduced it to 11 nights followed by 18 nights in Brighton by which time our seasonal pitch will become available in Worthing.

Our existing stay in Brighton ends on 15th February having exhausted our full 21 night allowance here, hence the necessary move to Gatwick. Eleven nights in Gatwick is preferable because it means we get a reasonable break before having to take the awning down and re-erect it once again. It will mean a longer commute to work but then we need to get into training for our seasonal pitch in Gatwick next winter!

When I tried to amend the booking online, I kept getting error messages. So we went to see the warden who was very helpful in sorting it all out. So nice to get such friendly and efficient service!
