Skiing Sites in Europe
My wife and I together with our small dog are taking our caravan to Italy in the Spring and are hoping to get some skiing in en-route. Can anyone recommend a site in either Austria or Northern Italy close to ski slopes (Not too commercial).

You've not said how your getting over or around the Alps! What route are you planning to take? You should note that Alpine passes are not open until the ploughs cut their way through in June. We could recommend the site at Huttopia Bourg St Maurice for les Arcs and Le Plagne on the French side with the option of then going through the Frejus tunnel to italy.
However, you should note that sites with access to Ski resorts are Commercial - they charge high-season rates during the ski season.

Good advice from Chasncath about road conditions. I would perhaps add in the need for snow tyres and/or chains in the winter sports areas.
For Austria the St Anton area might be reasonably accessible, campsites in the valley with lifts to the higher slopes, but the combination of non commercial campsites, ski-ing and a small dog seems an unusual trio.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you (lack of Wi-fi), Just had 3 weeks in Aviemore, with snow. We will be travelling via the tunnel then head for Austria via Germany. The little dog is a seasoned Eurotraveller. We do have snow tyres , chains and 4wheel drive. I should have said that we were looking for sites that are not too commercialised. The skiing would be a bonus on our way through Northern Italy to Slovenia and Croatia.
